Lyrics:
Giver Her Life
Hello I’m Bearnardo Junglestein
and I have a story to tell
it goes something likes this
just wait, it’s coming very soon
I had a cute cuddly pretty purple girl
she was the only on in my wide world
until she had an industrial accident
and now I have to bring her back to life
Giver her life, giver her life
It’s hard to imagine but her skull case was off
but the stuffing pouring out of her was quite soft
I got my trusty assistant to lend a hand
we would bring her back to life once again
Giver her life, giver her life
Giver her life, giver her life

The picture... &mdash 12/27/06 - 07:16:07 PM
...was the whole inspiration. It had the complete story right there, all I had to do was translate it into sound.
Thanks for the kind words. [ Reply to This ]

love the vocals! &mdash 12/27/06 - 06:34:25 PM
They are reminding my music brain of Prince when the song takes off. Vocally anyway. The beat is interesting yet simple, and that's something that is great to hear. Completely original ! [ Reply to This ]
I agree... &mdash 12/28/06 - 12:15:51 PM
I think musically this song is highly derivative, borrowing from Prince and any number of bands from the 80's. I was more interested in telling the story and I thought putting in the dance club theater would make it a bit more funny plus you would want to bop your head. [ Reply to This ]

Clubby goodness &mdash 12/27/06 - 09:19:36 PM
To quote the Shakespearean masterpiece that is "Dude, Where's My Car?":
Duuuude...
Aaanyway.
This is really cool.
Your production is always top-notch and you vocal delivery as well.
That and humor makes a killer combo - strong enough to kill a (wait for it...) stuffed bear?
Excellent work.

I sometimes wonder where I'm going to get my next lyrics from - this has given me inspiration.
Excellent track!

Everywhere... &mdash 12/28/06 - 01:53:55 PM
Lyrics are floating about everywhere... As I see it there are too many things to write about! I hope to get to at least some of them before I slip this mortal coil...
If you ever need and lyrical inspiration drop me a line.
Thanks for kudos! [ Reply to This ]

Yeah, the butler did it... but he looked like Prince and he was driving something purple...

Mr Spike, you are one of my favourite artists on this site, and you never fail to twist any and every musical genre that you tackle. This is another great production and a fantastic piece of song writing, a kinda funk-frankenstein groove.
Wonderful.

Thanks Steve! &mdash 12/28/06 - 01:44:51 PM
I was raised in a plethora of different styles and I've never really ever shut the door on any of them. You can learn to find in the inherent joy in any style of music, so I embrace things I don't know, learn about it and spit it back out. I also get really bored with listening to one style of music, which is also my biggest complaint about acts today. Everyone has to fit into a specific box, and if they go outside that box, fans and critics can't understand. Take for instance, Queen. Highly eclectic and absolutely entertaining!
Okay, I'm getting off my soap box now... [ Reply to This ]
just adding to the praise &mdash 12/28/06 - 03:32:48 PM
One picture, so many stories. I bet you could write songs in every genre to tell the story of that picture. This is kind of Prince meets Mr. Bungle. I love it! Now let's hear the melodramatic and celtic versions, please. :-) [ Reply to This ]
Mr. Prince Bungle the III &mdash 12/28/06 - 04:18:38 PM
She played the Mr. Bungle card... nize....
I thought this was already pretty damn melodramatic... No!?
Now the celtic version could be very interesting. Of course all the bears would need to be wearing kilts, tartans and little hats while drinking heavily and operating with golf clubs... Let's see - how stereotypes did I use there!? How many people did offend? ...sorry... [ Reply to This ]
Hehe &mdash 12/29/06 - 06:29:02 AM
Love that Brit accent...lol
Great song Spike, I hear the Prince similarity, great lyrics and as always your production skills are fabulous.
I like the harmonies and the verses are hysterical.
Nice one..

Unbearably cool &mdash 12/29/06 - 01:26:37 PM
I really enjoyed the juxtaposition of things: the macabre, the childish, the Frankenstein references, the accent and European sounds. My daughter just started working (her first job) at Build-a-bear, plus my favorite show I ever wrote was based on Frankenstein ("Creature"), so all this is near and dear. The groove is wonderful, the sound effects balanced and just right, the vocal doubling very cool. The track ended too soon for me, I wanted the story to go on! Another layer of surreality and double meaning, perhaps of metaphorical relevance. Is there a Part Two on the way? a second chapter? Totally cool. [ Reply to This ]
