Description:
The immense storm that ravaged the Great Lakes in early November 1913 has been called the “Great Lakes Hurricane, “ the “Ultimate Storm, “ and the “Big Blow.” It was unmatched for early winter severity and is one of the greatest winter storms in Cleveland’s history. Twelve commercial lake boats were lost with their entire crews on the Great Lakes and at least 235 sailors perished. Freezing rain and wet snow coated telegraph, telephone, and electric wires early in the storm and lines, poles, and trees were toppled by winds over 40 mph. A one-minute average wind of 79 mph was recorded at Cleveland. Precipitation fell for two days giving 22.2 inches of snow at Cleveland. Elsewhere, snowfall was 18-25 inches in eastern Ohio.

its raging outside &mdash 12/28/06 - 09:23:54 AM
but i'm ensconced in a warm envelope of music. like the stom itself, this builds. very trippy guitar/synth sound. the key changes keep it moving. cool

and thank you for being the first to comment. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have to write a song titled "January 2007"

Strange track this - it's a lovely, drifting song that sweeps you along, with crisp production. At first it contrasts with the theme of the song, but as the song progresses and the guitar becomes more prominent, you kinda get pulled into the idea of a storm, starting quietly, and then becoming more destructive as it progresses. You articulate this really well through the music - lovely work.

thank you so much for your comment. This is exactly the feeling that I wanted to convey with this song. The synth part at the beginning almost sounds like a playful pixie but soon the same theme turns more serious and the second synth theme sounds a bit stronger but then is repeated in a cutting way by the guitar part. I'm glad you liked this!

Man - if ever there was a soundtrack for a storm, this is it - it paints a vivid mindpicture. Very kinetic and edgy.
