Description:
This is a song I had originaly started writing about a stretch of highway that has needed to be widened for many years now and the frustration I felt about getting caught in traffic in the middle of the day going to work.but the song ended up being a sort of broken heart love song too.
this is one of my first attempts at writing a song with the midi keyboard I added some piano, synth and 60's type keys.
a special thanks to John[Texas Feel]for adding a giutar part and backing vocals.
Terry: rythem and lead guitar, lead vocals, midi keyboard, midi drums.
John: picking guitar at the end,all backing vocals.
Lyrics:
Here I sit the engines revved
And I’m stuck inside this traffic jam again
I don’t know why, why it is
But it always seems to be present
Whenever im running a bit behind
Chorus
Don’t know what it is that makes me feel
That I’m wasting my time
Don’t know what it takes to make this real
Cause I’m falling behind
It all in vain this I know
But still I vent frustration from deep inside my soul
A silent kiss is your goodbye
And I’ll never understand your reasons
You’ll never know how hard I tried
Chorus
Don’t know what it is that makes me feel
That I’m wasting my time
Don’t know what it takes to make this real
Cause I’m falling behind
Solo
Repeat chorus 3x
Don’t know what it is that makes me feel
That I’m wasting my time
Don’t know what it takes to make this real
Cause I’m falling behind
Oh yes behind
I’m wasting my time
Don’t know what it takes to make this real
Cause I’m falling behind
Drop d tuning

Great collab gents. &mdash 12/29/06 - 02:50:55 AM
Beautifully sung Terry. Very nice vocal harmonies. Gritty rhythm guitar work in a very clean and balanced mix. Cool guitar soloing too!
Be well!

Throwback ballad &mdash 01/01/07 - 10:33:38 AM
You must be another escapee from the 80's. To me this reminds me of "Shooting Star", the best band most people never heard of.
Great sound on this and an excellent mix. My one nit-pick is that you sounded like you were really forcing the notes on last chorus, almost like your throat was closing up or like you were trying to sing without waking up the neighbors:) Just remember to keep breathing and try to put even more power and air volume behind it.
As I said, it's just a small nitpick and doesn't take away from what a cool song it is. After all, I downloaded it! [ Reply to This ]
escpee indeed &mdash 01/07/07 - 11:39:49 PM
actually i escaped in the 70's but i had alot of influences from the 80's 90's and today i just love all kinds of music.on my vocals i think i was probably peaking on the edge of my vocal range.i dont know if tuning down a half step would help? antway thanks for the comments and enjoy the download i am flattered.
