Description:
Feeling of Avoidance / Evasion

Lyrics:
verse 1 / 2
for all those frail gestures unfairly travestied,
know that i am blaming you, should know
that i am blaming you

for all the grief & drama unnecessarily amplified,
know that i am blaming you, should know
that i am blaming you

for all the smitten feelings inevitably sabotaged,
know that i am blaming you, should know
that i am blaming you

for all the space that got deliberately occupied,
know that i am blaming you, should know
that i am blaming you

chorus
be my door way out
be my door way out
be my slide way in
be my slide way in

Nice singing &mdash 01/02/07 - 09:02:43 AM
I liked this. Not a major fan of this style of music but this ones works for me. I have one problem with it though. I felt it was a little repetitive and needs more contrast. Your voice is smooth over a smoth backing track which go well together but considering the subjuct maybe it needs a bit of roughness. I was hoping the beat would pick up or something dirty would come in in contrast to your vocals. Maybe dirty distorted guitars or double the beat. It just need abit of a break from the mood.

Hope you know what I mean. Its a fab track - loved the vocals!

I don't know what to compare this to... &mdash 01/02/07 - 09:03:50 AM
I really like the slowly shifting chordal framework, and the sounds of the keyboard/electric piano...

The lyrics suit the music very well...

The vocals shift much like the keyboard/synth lines do, working much like another instrument...

I don't know if I've heard your music before... I will certainly listen again...

fragile &mdash 01/02/07 - 02:38:29 PM
Fragile and delicate. So pretty minimalistic: less is more. Hun, your voice is pretty unique. And these lyrics are somehow sad, but beautiful and haunting all the way. I was thinking about the contrast in our voices. Hehe, we should do a duet some day :-)

Ebb and flowing &mdash 01/02/07 - 04:24:35 PM
Sonar of the heart, a deeper flow. Your light voice floats above this progressive electro-pop fluid, avoiding the tonic in just the right restless way. Like waves on the shore, in-out, birds overhead flitting and barely alighting, all happening without a care about your life, nothing you can change or interact with, like the helplessness you feel when the everflow of someone else's life fails to return love no matter how hard you push or wish or present or retreat. Really nice track.

Excellent &mdash 01/02/07 - 07:53:15 PM
Caught somewhere between Radiohead, The Flaming Lips and Stereolab. A wonderful place to be musically. :)

Damn! &mdash 01/02/07 - 11:41:54 PM
I think I like this better than most of Thom Yorke's latest album... your music is downright magical. I am so glad you post your tunes here on MacJams...!!!

lovely style... &mdash 01/02/07 - 11:54:49 PM
...I am very glad that you sent me a note...this is clearly the work of talent.

There are sounds here that are so reminiscent of obscure (and perhaps not so obscure) artists that I came across in the 80's & early 90's.

The harmonic structure is absolutely stunning which is emphasised by your subtle choice of instrumentation.

Faved....

simple yet complex &mdash 01/03/07 - 01:30:22 AM
I have listened to your music evolve over the past several months... You have developed a unique style and really making a trademark sound. The minimalist arrangement has an appeal that matches your unadorned voice. The composition itself is poetic... message is mystical without sounding schizophrenic.. laidback in rendering yet bold and aggressive in creativity! Definitely high marks in that department.

Blissed out.... &mdash 01/03/07 - 11:43:51 AM
I'm liking this musically a lot. Not really a fan of vocals done in this manner (but that's just me).

I would lose the arpeggiated synth pattern that runs up the keyboard under the first and last verses as it detracts from the vocal melody lineetc.... and is too repetitive as a result.

If anything I would make it more minimal. It could even benefit from some field recordings underneath the track in parts. Even adding a bit of reverb to the vocals in key places such as the chorus would help to break up the track into defineable areas better.

Reminded me of Mileece, Tetsuo Inuoe, Four Tet and even Bjork. Good stuff though.

Calm but discordant &mdash 01/03/07 - 01:49:21 PM
Hi haribo - first time I've listened to your tracks, and I'm really impressed. Your lyrics don't 'scan' and are quite unwieldy, and are all the better for it. the whole texture of this trcak is kinda chailled but slightly discordant, and wraps around the vocal, though I'd like to have your voice a little louder.
Sounds great as it is, but i could imagine this being remixed as a house/dance track.

A really original piece.

first time here &mdash 01/04/07 - 12:01:06 AM
A little Belle and Sebastian, and like Mungo said a little Stereolab maybe a little early Eno with the casio keyboard lo-fi drumkit. I like the vocals and lyrics. The drums and bass could be a little louder for my taste. There are also some significant "plosives" popping "P" sounds that a mesh pop filter could fix. Nice stuff.

Dreamy &mdash 01/04/07 - 09:48:45 AM
Well recorded and performed, very dreamlike and has an almost music box quality at times. My only beef is that the song becomes a bit too repetitive, most noteably to me the "know that I" vocal.

Not usually my genre of choice so no rating vote, but nicely done. Great effort!

APPLAUSE &mdash 01/04/07 - 10:09:50 AM
smooth flow and textures. It seems as if your voice rolls off the rolling synth patterns.I get the sense of buffalo daughter on this but very Haribo. great song!

amazing &mdash 01/10/07 - 07:01:44 PM
wow. I am blown away. this is amazingly inspired and inspirational. Off beat, original, beautifully dissonant and natural, pure, dreamy, artistic, experimental. Reminds me of autochre, susumo yokota, ultramarine, yogop all rolled up in a delicious cocktail of emotions. wow 9 9 10 9 from me.... maybe not mainstream pop though! you are way ABOVE pop....

Jon Anderson? &mdash 02/13/07 - 01:02:00 PM
It's a very nice song. The voice reminds me of Jon Anderson, the singer of Yes.
