Description:
This started life three years ago, but at that time I had virtually now equipment, not even a microphone to record with! So it got scribbled down on a piece of paper, shoved into a file and forgotten about...until now. I've expanded the few bars of melody I had scribbled down, and added an accompianment, but then realised that the accomp gave the melody a totally different feel, so scratched the few experimental lyrics I had jotted down. It's only a short one, just over a minute, but it's definately the longest I've worked on a piece. I will probably add some lyrics at a later date.

Pencilled in, note for note....

Lyrics:
None as yet, but the original lyrics which I had jotted down were:

I last saw my love sitting under tree,
And that was the last of my love I did see,
He spread his hands apart and smiled at me,
A staff in his hand and a tear in his e'e.

The tree was in bloom, but my love did not see,
For the spear in his side, and blood in his e'e.

Now aren't you glad I dropped e'm? ;)

pretty cool &mdash 01/03/07 - 10:44:28 AM
pretty cool for penciling in note for note. Very basic and direct, but also very strong. I like it and would like to see how it evolves with lyrics.

More! &mdash 01/03/07 - 12:21:20 PM
This is beautiful. The shades of emotion and color that you bring into the changes, from ruefully hopeful to dark and disturbed. The rhythmic insistence and complex chords brought to mind a twinkle of Kate Bush with elements of Danny Elfman sprinkled in. For pencil work, it really sounds quite good, I thought you were playing live at first - could have something to do with the E.Q. The lyrics certainly shed light on the emotions spilling out of the music. I'm definitely interested to hear what you do with this piece!

stylish &mdash 01/04/07 - 12:31:00 AM
This is very elegant and beautiful. I can't believe those were penciled note for note. It's short of course as you are already aware but this song is just crying out for more. I am anxious to see where this goes.

This is lovely--and the instrumental is crying for those lyrics to join it! ;)

I hope you will continue to work on this and finish it.
I've fav'd this, but I hope to be able to replace it with a newer version you upload later :D
