Description
A short recording of the saxophonist from my band playing a simple melody line was chopped up into 5 samples using Audacity. These samples were then mashed up using Forester to create 9 new individual samples. These samples were then used in Ableton Live and improvised in free time to the composition you hear on here. (The original sample unedited can be heard at the very end of the track). I also use some of my binaural field recordings of a thunderstorm to underpin the whole composition. There is a slight CPU glitch towards the end of the track, but it's fairly quiet.

I like the experiment here with the long sustained notes and the introduction of the original notes near the end. Plaintive and dignified are the impressions I get. I'm (oddly, I'm not sure why, I probably would know if I knew music theory) reminded of Sun Ra and Charles Mingus.
