Description
A bass guitar and Bflat clarinet duet. This is part 2 of a 3 part composition titled 'Trilogy In Three.' Essentially all 3 compsoitions are bass solos (kind of) with clarinet accompaniment. These were recorded the good old fashioned way, using a reel-to-reel recorder. The only real editing done on a Mac was using Pro Tools free to tidy the beginnings and endings etc. I actually played these pieces while suffering from streaming hayfever. These pieces also quite old now, but I have a foundness for them, so I thought I share them here.

I really enjoyed the mixture of these two instruments - there are some rather lovely colors you've brought out in their dance together. It sounds mostly composed, maybe a little improvised? As a clarinet player myself, it was quite nice to hear the instrument (a REAL one) used in a modern sense. The softer second clarinet harmonies are beautiful as well. Given that you've got a bass solo going on - this gets my mind wondering what this would sound like with a Bb bass clarinet, or even a contrabass (I know, not everyone owns one of those). Nice tone on the clarinet - you play better with hayfever than I ever did in my youth. LOL! Looking forward to hearing more.
