i spend the better part of a cold saturday and sunday last february on this one. i had moved just moved to suburbs and was amazed by the silence of the winter. i think i worked out most of the parts by 8 am saturday. spent the rest of the weekend remixing and rearranging.

Reason to chill... &mdash 01/05/07 - 03:30:19 PM
Nice smooth build here... at first I thought it might be a little too slow to build, but every time I was ready for some variance, there you were to sprinkle the right bits in. The pentatonic plucking string gave it an almost Japanesey feel, like sitting in Akihabara at 2 AM, watching the rain on the window of the coffee shop distort the dark shiny neon-streaked streets. The synth choices were a little raw and edgy, which may have been what you wanted, but it made this piece a little less soft and restful, but instead gave it a bit of buzzy agitated anticipation. I liked the syncopation in this, as well as the crisp clean mixing. Welcome aboard, great intro piece!

akihabara at 2AM! i really take that as a compliment. although, my personal experience in akihabara was a bit shady. but thats another story ;-) what a great visual to get from the piece. you may have retitled the song!

thanks so muh for the positive feedback.

This is what I like! Smooth and calm but not without edge. And a little Japanese, why not! Fav'd and DL'd. Thanks!
