Description:
I recorded this song at 2 in the morning about 6 months ago. It was recorded live into a groove tube convertable mic. Voice was lacking due to the late hour, but it has a nice feel to it. Hope you like. Thanks for listening

Lyrics:
say goodbuy to all and everything
goodbuy so long, I cannot stay
The reason that I say these things most of all

Some will say that Im not sane
others weigh in silently
but the reason that Ive gone this way most of all most of all

(CH)Im crazy bout the way your made up
and all the fire inside of
my heart is what Im given
all of my hope remains in you.

(2nd Ch) A life is all Im bringin
all of my life I'll live for you
all of my hope remains in you

Im gonna leave all that I have behind
Id rather be the one you had in mind
and if they ask me where I find the time
then they'll know
they will know. (CH)

hey out there &mdash 01/06/07 - 01:53:06 PM
really not all this noisy at all... You've got a great sense for where a song need to go.. melody and structure all leading someplace... you seem to have a fine storyteller approach in your delivery... these are the kinds of songs that will always stick... again... I'd like to have lyrics...

I'm impressed with the amount of dynamics you're getting from a simple production.. lots of eb & flow.. you are willing to let the song breath... that sets us up well for the larger parts.. good contrast...

and voice, too. Not much to add to what has been allready said, just a warm welcome here at MJ. Good idea you had to eventually post your work, mate.

Great vocals &mdash 01/07/07 - 04:45:34 PM
Great vocalizing! Very stable and secure voice. Guitar stuff is fine too but it is your voice that carry the song forward.

I can almost hear the night outside. This is a really nice song. Great lyrics. Moving chords. You have a really great voice. I would have really liked it if you weren't trying not to wake the neighbors and just really cut loose and wailed with some of the angst that the lyrics call to mind. The mix is excellent considering the directness of it. Where did you place the mic? and at what angle? I'd like to know. Thanks.....

mic placement &mdash 01/13/07 - 10:34:25 AM
Thank you for the nice words. Yes, You are right about the night. For some reason this song does that to me as well. Very soothing. The kids were all sleeping and its like 1am and I put on the headphones on and started playing. I put the mic out about 8 inches from the guitar and about 4-5 inches above the sound hole. seemed like a nice mix between the guitar and vox. And yes, singing quietly has never been something that I could do well. If I ever re-record, I will put more emotion into the vocal. Thanks : )
