Description:
hello 2007 people
this is a track I've done based on beautiful onesweetworld
accapella you won't break me
thank you Linda for letting me use your voice. I won't be offended if you hate the result ;)

Delicious &mdash 01/07/07 - 01:14:18 PM
I heard Linda's solo track a couple of weeks ago, and I thought she did great (still think so of course). And now there's Mister Fonkness comming on the stage. Ah, what a delight... you son of a beat did it again! You know what's so strange: it feels like Linda added her vocals to the track instead of the other way around. Now THAT takes some artistry to accomplish. Delicious.

you know, Linda's vocal has really something of its own, I have the feeling it would fit on many possibilities. anyway, the final result, what you hear here, was quite a long process to build. but it was fun too. I'm glad you dig it Walt!

Great drummin', great voice, great job. Very inspired on this one, Mista Fonk. You're opening your creative year with a blockbuster, man. Bonne et Heureuse Funky Year, cher Datafunk. [ Reply to This ]

To you too t(our) &mdash 01/08/07 - 03:13:16 PM
[ Reply to This ]
arf &mdash 01/08/07 - 04:06:06 PM

First of all, sorry if I haven't gotten around to your posts lately. I've been rather bogged down with school work.
I say, this track is wonderful. Great original sound, those drums carry the tune well. I like the alt vibe, yet I can still hear some datafunk in it. The bell synth or whatever that instrument is is a nice touch, sounds like something Richard D. James would use...with a different beat of course.
And onesweetworld, who provided you with vocals, has an amazing voice. You mixed it in well Data. I love the backwards FX. Sounds like Bjrk, definatly quality work. Added to Favs.

you don't have to apologize, joel, I haven't been around for a while too, and I know I missed a lot of great tunes. its a shame but now I'm working and erm... can't hear tunes while I'm working, pfffffff.
AFX is GOD
and for sure, onesweetworld has an amazing voice :)

Those drums are killer data!!! I was wondering when the singing was going to begin. It was worth the wait (not that I minded waiting).

glad you dig the drums and the vocal and the track!
these drums were quite harsh to build, wanted them to sound heavy and broken... and erm... I'm happy with the result ;)

Linda likes it, the peoples like it, at times for me, I like it, The back word vocals, thats cool how you did that, I just think her voice on this piece belongs with stringed instruments, her voice is so natural and beautiful, and then we have the industrial corruption, call me old school, not that the industrial settings sound bad, but, Linda kinda losses her naturalness, I guess that's just what I miss on this song. -MJG [ Reply to This ]
untilted &mdash 01/08/07 - 06:13:41 PM
I like high contrast between raw elements and light, I've listened a lot of alternative bands in the past (and still today)like My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth. theses bands sound sweet to my ears but I know they're a harsh listen. what I'm trying to say here is that I'm totally aware this 'indus' background as you said can be disturbing, unpleasant and pointless to some ears, especially when you have the sweetest vocal beside like Linda's. but I guess I like it this way :-)
thanks a lot for your time listening and commenting.
peace.

Edward Scissor Hands meets... &mdash 01/08/07 - 01:06:37 PM
Run Lola Run.
So cool. I love the monster quality of this track and the stilted glockenspiel sound... I am a total sucker for music that is visual and contains what I like to call "scene changes" ... This is very linear, and I love that... Not just a droning beat, but totally dynamic and landscapey. So cool. Then ...just when you think you know what's going on, in comes the vocal--which is AWESOME. Very cathartic. Nice work!!! --serena [ Reply to This ]

you have to greet Onesweetworld for the vocal part, she rocks.

Hehe &mdash 01/08/07 - 05:30:20 PM
That's a kick ass beat, dude! I didn't comment on this when I first heard it 'cause I was listening through a computer speaker. And then there was the artwork - I thought, oky he's gone way twisted -- I thought, 'this is either f'd up, or it's funked up... --
I'm very happy to report what you already know by now... This is very funked up!
It's sooo cool! I'm a bit green... Man, this is nice, dude.
But you're still way twisted - LOL -- That ending caused me to make a mess... LOL
Thanks! - Macca [ Reply to This ]
huhu &mdash 01/08/07 - 06:27:23 PM
listening to a tune through a computer speaker is always a fantastic experience.
I didn't mean the final twisted part but I guess I just couldn't resist. its the reason why there's a blank between this two parts, just in case you wanna cut it before it goes twisted a little. but I know sir that you like it that way and believe it or not, while doing this final part I was thinking, dang Macca would probably like this a lot ;-)
but by the way, have you killed Cydniko or what? are you a baaaad person?

Extremely cool! &mdash 01/10/07 - 04:40:41 AM
Love the backing, and the vocals - the whole track really is outstanding - fantastic ending - for some reason it took me to the old olympic village in Munich where we spent some time in 1994. Haven't seen Edward Scissorhands, but definitely a Run Lola Run experience for me. If I had to give a crit it would be that Linda's voice could maybe come up just a tad.
Awesome!

It's not bad but ... &mdash 01/11/07 - 04:19:52 AM
Hello,
This song is not bad, but it's also nothing special.
The secamode-version was much better.
(and of coarse the Total mixed-up version)
This is just one opinion...
Greetings

First: You don't suck.
It's just not my style.
But you are in the Fan Picks of this site with this song.
That means something.
And you have much more fans than I have.
Again: It's not a bad song. But it's not my style. [ Reply to This ]

Five Extra Wows &mdash 02/23/07 - 08:12:34 PM
Man (or is that robot?)!!
Such a sweet piece of noise. Wow. Crazy drum signature. I listened to it while I did my taxes, so when I get the gigantic refund, I'm blaming you and sending you $$$$$.
This was such a delightful surprize. Wow. When God sent an angel down to sing this, the world got goose bumps. You two are a great band!! I wonder what you could do if you jammed out in the same garage? Wow.
I love this piece of music. Wow. Both of you are amazing and both have been downloaded.
Wow. [ Reply to This ]
