excellent &mdash 01/07/07 - 07:06:33 PM
the chord changes and arrangement lends itself to the heartfelt lead. Reading your bio on your home page explains it because i can deffinetly hear Zappa in this. Some shut up and play your guitar. also i feel an adrian belew/ beatle feel and that is some of my favorite stuff! The fade in and out at the end surprised me in an off good kind of way. This is going in my ipod thanks for sharing and welcome to MJ's [ Reply to This ]
Some good playing here &mdash 01/10/07 - 09:59:46 AM
Given the amount of listening people do on I pods and other devices with only ear buds, I would have mixed the lead guitar in the center. That center mix of the lead helps the listener focus attention on it better and to be more engulfed in it.
Keep in mind that this is only a minor improvement that I would have made to satisfy my own taste. [ Reply to This ]
i don't think so &mdash 01/10/07 - 04:54:43 PM
with bass and drums also in the middle, I don't think so!
(this is way to technical, what did you feel exactly?) [ Reply to This ]
Just a general point &mdash 01/14/07 - 11:42:56 AM
A traditional way to mix things is to put the bass in the center sometimes with a bit of an effect to spread it a little to left and right. Drums across the stereo stage to some extent with the kick and snare in the middle. The lead instrument or lead vocal near center stage and the backing instruments split L/R. But hey ... the song we are talking about is YOUR song. You are free to do whatever YOU want with it. Reject any convention or advice you do not want to follow. :-) [ Reply to This ]
Sorry &mdash 01/14/07 - 12:07:37 PM
I was not offended, it's just my opinion. Sorry if it sounded somewhat harsh (not intended at all) [ Reply to This ]
No offense taken &mdash 01/15/07 - 10:19:49 AM
and none offered. We're all friends here on MacJams, and discussing our music is what this is all about. One of the things I like about any art and music especially is that there are as many different musical tastes as there are people. I liked your song ... that's why I commented on it. The stuff that I don't care for, I don't say anything about because my knowledge of the genre may be shallow and I may be talking out of my (cl)ass. :-) [ Reply to This ]

very cool &mdash 01/26/07 - 05:37:29 PM
Oni, what a great track. Its got a little of jazz, prog rock as well as some crossover influences in it. The fluid-ness with which you handle the melody line on the guitar is simply sweet. The deftness which you play the doubling lines/haromonies and the fact that everything sounds like it was played real time makes this bubble to the top for me. Really quite exceptional [ Reply to This ]
