I know what you mean . I need a bomb shelter to protect
my last upload, I think most people who drop a 1bomb
on a decent song such as the one you posted are very
    insecure about their own abilites.

You really shred the keys, dontcha'! sounds like that
bassline could be quantized as bit sound a little off
beat? But the "guitar" work just kicks booty!

Keytar! (Credit for term: f0s0d, I think...) I'm not quite hearing the problems
with the bass that you are. I didn't quantize, but I think the bass is dead on.
I think where you hear timing issues is probably the keytar, where I
doubtless am late in places (most likely the "rhythm" sections).

Interesting note regarding the bass: It's a loop of 9 variations of a 4 bar
section of the song. I purposefully chose an odd number of variations to loop
because I wanted the bass to vary sufficiently throughout the song instead of
always coming around to the same variation at the same place in the song, as
in a perfect repetition. Follow that? If you did, explain it back to me cause I
    think I lost myself here...

Excellant Guitar. Did you do part of the guitar on a
    keyboard?
The level for the bass could be pushed up a bit and the
guitar could be pushed down a couple of notches.
    Piano? sounds great.
    Love this jam.
good choice music to drive home in traffic.

    Keytar-solo! &mdash 07/30/04 - 01:42:40 AM
Not really my kind of style though I recognize your talent.
Check out Daft Punk's Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger for
    some awesome vocoder/keytar-solos :)

It would have worked in a mid-90s driving game though :

Wow. Like a lesson in keytar playing. Your lead line is
fantastic. Great energy and use of melodic content mixed
with constant improvising. I think the thing about the
bass line (especially at the beginning) is that it sounds so
MIDI. If each note weren't so separated and each attach
not so the same, it would sound more real. But this is a
driving cool piece that deserves a much higher rating.

Thanks for the comments and the constructive criticism. I love the bass line,
but I did not respect it enough. It deserves better than a loop no matter how
long. This song is quite old, and I've listened to it countless times. Now ALL I
hear is the bass, not the keytar, when I listen to it. I hear you about the MIDI
sound to it. To a certain degree I think my bass synth is partly to blame for
that. If I hadn't already moved past this sound for the most part, I would
probably re-record it using GB for a completely different production.

My son, who is learning electric guitar, is inspired, really inspired!
