Description:
This is a song I wrote a couple years ago. I always played it with my band as a rock song with lots of distortion, but I thought I would try it as an acoustic song.

Nice one &mdash 01/11/07 - 04:45:43 PM
This really works as an acoustic rocker - I can see where it would lend itself well to rockin' out full-core. Nice voice and groove. I'd like to hear some harmonies, you could really pull it off. I like what this song says as well - I assume you're talkin' to Ol Scratch there. This even could be sung from Jesus' point of view as he's tempted in the desert. Nice!

Thanks &mdash 01/11/07 - 04:51:08 PM
Thanks, You know most of the songs that I (and my band) write are songs singing to the Lord, so I thought it would be interesting to turn things around and write a song to the ole' Satan. I think it turned out pretty well. I've still got some work I want to do on the recording though, especially on the vocals.

Sounds really good, nice blend of acoustics and your vocals are just fine man, that's just my opinion, good message, and recording levels.-MJG

Very nice &mdash 01/15/07 - 07:32:31 AM
Hi, a nice song. Very nicely produced and performed.

As dreadmon indicated, it is easy to imagine how this would be full-core rocking. Nice both ways. Would be great to also be able to hear it somewhere between this soft version and "with lots of distortion".

Been listening to Bach too much.... &mdash 01/16/07 - 11:08:08 AM
Bach was probably the master of linking text and music. And so I'm wondering how you see the notes of this song relating to the lyrics. Everything in this song denotes sadness, weakness, resignation: minor key, just about every line ends on a downward turn. Words like "strong" and "long" seem high points, but then you're breaking them off in a downward manner. Strangely enough, only the phrase "to you!" is an upturn. Excultate jubilate!

Very strange.

I guess I'm feeling a bit snarky this morning. Don't mind me.

you have a great voice. i'm not a christian myself, but it really doesn't matter with your music, the appeal is there for everyone. nice job.
