Nice flowing instrumentation. &mdash 01/16/07 - 10:56:34 PM
The percussive effects are nice, too. Perhaps a slight bit of variation, and you could add a bit to the length on this one. Welcome to MacJams!

ethereal, moody &mdash 01/17/07 - 11:50:31 AM
Very nice dreamy music. Nice not-too-overdone sound effects. The heavily-panned drums were slightly distracting, but the lyrical washes and piano arpeggios were poignant and sweet. Nice changes of instrumentation here and there, nice keyboard playing! Faved, welcome to Macjams! I could enjoy more of this :)

thank you &mdash 01/17/07 - 05:17:37 PM
hi drakonis. thanks for noticing these things. specifically you mentioned the sound fx, which i was hesitant about, and also the stereo separation on the drums. this is good feedback and i thank you very much!

A great first tune for MJ's.. &mdash 01/17/07 - 05:06:33 PM
Welcome to Macjams.

I really enjoyed listening to this mix. It had some powerful/strong sounds and note sequences, a bit of noise near the beginning but overall the mix and production were very good. The background/foundation of the tune was very likeable.

for the critique and for letting me know that things are blending well.

peaceful &mdash 01/17/07 - 08:20:19 PM
weird is good though. it's spacey which is nice. i like how it sort of mellows out half way through and builds up again re adding the percussion. i like it.

MuzaK... hmmmm... &mdash 01/18/07 - 02:20:31 AM
The other MissC

I like the overall feel and sonic texture to this piece. Maybe a bit like Peter Gabriel on lithium... some themes feel pleasantly familiar.
I think the the length is perfect... shorter is almost always better. "If you like it, listen to it again, if not, it's over soon enough." - JC

I know that owl from somewhere, just can't place it.... is it from a Syd & Marty Croft production, the mavens of the bad TV kids shows of the late 70's...?

lithium &mdash 01/18/07 - 01:48:17 PM
peter gabriel on lithium would be funny. thanks for the feedback on the song length - i really like that quote and am branding that into memory now.

the owl is from Clash of the Titans. randomly chosen for lack of anything better.

you dont think muzak is appropriate? i cant find a genre for me. thank you very much for your advice.

Nice .. &mdash 01/18/07 - 09:23:57 AM
.. got a kind-of dreamy Jean-Michel Jarre 'Oxygen'esque kind-of thing about it too, IMHO.
Nice use of effects .. and I like the mix- I agree about the fast panning on some of the percussive fills (hi bongos?) in headphones being a bit excessive.. didn't bother me on speakers though. Welcome to MJs!

i will work on that panning you mention. thanks for your advice!

nice trip &mdash 01/18/07 - 09:47:36 AM
it;s the soundtrack tune from the movie about the cat who got lost in the huge fridge trying to grab some extra milk on the lovely august evening. hmmm... i think so. and then i woke up. anyways, ehm, this is really nice fusion. cheers.

I like it! &mdash 01/20/07 - 06:35:23 AM
Muzak = Backgound music according to the crossword puzzle I did the other day. I think this piece has quite a few interesting features beyond that. Much going on with percussion, sound fx etc. You've found that famous dark background style I like from MissChaos' music and added some lighter lead instruments on top. A bit melancholy, which I actually like. I am looking forward to more music from you! (Btw, thanks for listing as a fan of my humble music.)

It is strange yes but its very well produced...
Only thing i wasn't a huge fan of was the phasers they sound a bit cheapy when everything else is top shelf!

Awesome track though would like to hear more from you

The piano is beautiful and the percussion is great.

Ahhhh... &mdash 01/23/07 - 01:49:57 PM
Very nice work! I like! It's nice to hear that someone else is not afraid of a bit of percussive action - You were successful in transporting me to a nice dream-like state - and it's the middle of my busy working morning - and just off the phone having had kind of an intense conversation w/ someone -

I needed this! It was just a tad short, but a nice taste of what might be of what's more to come, I hope.

Thanks! Macca
