Description:
Over a year ago, Dave and I did this track as our second collaboration together. It was not meant to be surf music, but rather music about surfing, and the simple unadulterated joy of riding a wave. I live on the west coast of the US, and the water's cold enough at my breaks to require a wetsuit year-round. But the allure and sheer thrill of catching a wave makes you forget about the cold water in a quick hurry. That, and the adrenaline rush of seeing all that water coming at you!
Dave's always wanted to bring James on board to lay down some righteous live drums as a remix. As it happens, this song totally worked for our Fractal Garden quartet rock album concept, so we decided to rebuild the song from scratch. We're very pleased to present the official version of Glidin'. THIS is what I heard in my head all this time.
This song absolutely SCREAMS to be a soundtrack for a surfing video. Alas, there is no such video-sharing site along the lines of MacJams as of yet, or at least none that I can find, and so Glidin' will have to remain a song on our upcoming album until it's hopefully discovered.
