Description:
This is a art-rock-dance-thing with samples, yeah, yeah, I know I'm not supposed to...but I think it has a lot to say about the human condition… well, mine anyway. No collaborators on this one. It’s all my fault.

didn't know you liked to dance &mdash 01/14/07 - 09:48:59 PM
i think you created a new porno track here, must be that funky wah. was that synth to create that feedback type of sound? me personally i would of dumped the vocal and place it with some more wicked guitar with some outrageous feedback!.cool stuff philip!

Yeah, Vic I think it is my Digiteck Genesis 3 guitar modeler, which is amazing at that stuff. They are not produced anymore, but you can get them for about $100 on eBay. I just picked on up for my brother.

Nice start &mdash 01/14/07 - 10:07:28 PM
Bass intro very tasty, and the sounds are well chosen, but this one doesn't really grab me despite the excellent production. I'm beginning to like the way you put up 3 at a time - allows for some serious comparison.

I've been struggling for two days.... &mdash 01/14/07 - 11:04:37 PM
...trying to clean up acoustic guitar tracks recorded in my noisy room here... So I experience major envy when I hear your clear, clean, punchy mixes... MAN... I love that bass line, especially at the intro... and that bit of spangly acoustic guitar that's in there so subtly... and I'm a sucker for wah-wah...

You're right that some of your stuff is off my beaten path, but I have the ears to know that you are very good at the apparently many things that you do...

Taylor &mdash 01/16/07 - 02:46:46 AM
I use a Taylor 814ce which has the Taylor "expression pickup system". Which is amazing. When you plug it into a board or amp it basically sounds exactly like what it sounds like live. I usually simultaneously mic it with my Rode 200NT condensor to get 2 signals I can mix togther to get the sound I want. But lots of times I just end up with the pickup signal alone, it is so clean.

love the pumpin drivin poundin bass - just the right amount volume-wise. cool blossoms and swells of sound. wonderful mix of good stuff in each ear. "nice wah" yelled in from the living room by my mate - he liked it, too. yep, this will certainly get a few twitches outta folks. LOVE instrumentals like this, where there are no lyrical limitations, just free falling into the sonic journey. nice job - anne

Anne! &mdash 01/16/07 - 02:55:45 AM
Hey! I finally got one of the SISTERS to show up! I'm psyched, you are legendary. Love your stuff.

Thanks for the critique, Shouts from the other room are the best praise of all. If your mix translates out there, all things are good with the world. Glad you dug the wah, guits, bop, etc. I appreciate the feedback from the likes of y'all....

Again... &mdash 01/15/07 - 09:22:33 PM
This one also has such a great bass and groove. One name comes to mind; Sergio Leone. Don't ask me why? That's just the way things works. A good track, very well performed and produced. /Mikki

Beauty and the Snatch &mdash 01/16/07 - 12:36:58 AM
This one has a different vibe compared to Snatch. This has a more straightforward rhythm that sets the mood but gets a little bit more monotonous towards the end. Love the little breaks and quirky sounds thrown in there. Overall, the technical aspect is masterfully done, but comparatively has less surprising twists and spice than Snatch has. Still, quite a commendable piece by any standard.

...I just finished listening to "phnom phen" by the mudmen (http://www.macjams.com/song/28218), and this tune works really well with theirs. Both excellent tracks... by excellent musicians.

Nice Swells &mdash 01/23/07 - 09:05:13 AM
Superb work. I really, really like this.... beautiful guitar sounds, nice rolling bass line, and great intro and exit. Thanks for this!

It didn't, however, cause me any pain. What do you make of that?

Thanks Dude!

JOAN rocks! You guys are totally out there. I've gotten so lame in my old age.

Thanks for droppin in. You should post some of the cereal box beats from your son, he looks like a drummin' maniac on your icon, LOL! He and I could do a collab!

Out there &mdash 06/04/07 - 06:34:37 AM
... thanks, racerat! You're right, JOAN is totally out there... usually so far out there that we have a lot of trouble finding our way back. And if this track is your lame stuff... keep getting lamer!

Will pass your invitation onto Lucas, my son. As soon as he's mastered more words than "Hi", I'm sure he'll get back to you.
