Description:
This is actually a song I wrote a year and a half ago - Remembrance.
I, however, received an email just over a month ago from Myck, a French singer and he told me that he had done some vocals for the song with lyrics by Aurelien Saunier. I was thrilled and so I mixed the song again with some changes, both in structure and sounds (mostly minor changes, though) to make it more compatible with Myck's vocals.
Enjoy!
Einarus: Composition, arrangement, all instruments and final mixing.
Myck: All vocals and mixing of vocals.
Aurelien Saunier: Lyrics
Lyrics:
"The meaning of the lyrics is that I do everything wrong, and when I look back to my life I can't help but doing mistakes. That's what I wanted to express through the lyrics."

Superb........ &mdash 01/15/07 - 04:40:12 PM
Everything about this mix glows, the singing, the music, the production.
Excellent.
Myck. Superb interpretation of the music together with your singing and lyrics.

Excellent song &mdash 01/15/07 - 06:28:50 PM
I like French electropop. Or maybe just electropop with french lyrics? This is an excellent song, both the backing track and the vocals. The whole production sounds excellent. Compliments to the both of you. [ Reply to This ]
AMAZING &mdash 01/16/07 - 11:10:49 AM
This is so delicate and sophisticated. Einar your music is amazingly wonderful and Myck's voice fits this like a rubber glove. No lubricant necessary. Beautiful song cats. I really love this one! [ Reply to This ]
I love french &mdash 01/16/07 - 03:47:47 PM
I think the vocals are a bit to loud!!! The song and the lyrics are great. Myck has a great voice. His voice complete perfectly your song!! Good job you too. [ Reply to This ]
When I saw &mdash 01/16/07 - 04:01:39 PM
there was a new song from you, Einarus, I had to jump right at it, and I was not disappointed, even if the Icelandic-French mix was a bit of a surprise. Usually French is not my sweetest cup of tea, but this was different in a very positive way! So thanks to both of you. You have a great colab here! [ Reply to This ]
reorienting my Remembrance &mdash 01/16/07 - 05:59:05 PM
Wow, great stuff. But it is strange, since I've been oft-listening Ziti's remix of this, so having vox in it takes some getting used to. Also in the middle break, it seems slightly right-heavy until the voice comes in, but that's only for a couple measures, and only a headphone-wearing issue. Overall Myck has a very good voice and sings with conviction. His singing fits nicely into the music, and this "feels good"... well put together.

Prog electropop &mdash 01/16/07 - 08:38:00 PM
Myck has a striking and mellifluous voice that perfectly complements the richness of your music - and your production job is as clear as a bell (love that effect with the distant piano at the beginning).

Mmmmm.... &mdash 01/17/07 - 02:31:22 AM
Ohhhhhhh man, this is nice, E and Myck! Increddibly tasty!
I don't remeber ever hearing this, before. I like it. You are one of few MJRs who always has all the different spectrums of sound covered in your pieces. I liked the slow slinky and very sexy build up on this. And what I always enjoy on your tunes is your percussive work. Very nice.
Dign' the bell and organ thing. Also, I really like the reed-like synth sounds in this. All the synth sounds are nicely done here. Very tasty, indeed.
The bass... - SWEET!
And last but absolutely, not at all the least, the vocal work on this! Very, very nice! The vocal work is one of the things that really sexifies this! (sexify is a word I just made up) I don't understand what the words are, but it's not at all necessary - it all melded together quite nicely.
You get an A - This is a sweet production, from begining to end. I was quite satiated, sirs.
Outrageously hip!
Thank you! Macca [ Reply to This ]

Is this in the French Billboard charts already? &mdash 01/17/07 - 02:32:31 PM
There have been a few great songs this week... and this song is one of my instant favorites, just because I am partial to its pop leanings and a lot more in this song that just grabs you right away. Love the vocals by Myck.. and of course it's French, so it kinda has that ticklish appeal right away. Can't understand a word said and sung but it sounds romantic and heartfelt, probably even sexy, but Einarus won't put anything like that in there, I think (leave that to guys like me to sing dirty Ha-ha!). The backing music is vintage Einarus.... very well done.. soaring and uplifting and dramatic. My only quibble: the lead voice comes off a little loud early on, especially when there is less instrumentation, but it gradually settles down to a beeter level in the mix later on. (I think it has something to do with the MP3 conversion 'cause I do have that problem, too). I will be listening to this a few more times, for sure! [ Reply to This ]
Oh, man &mdash 01/17/07 - 02:44:50 PM
This is sooo good. Great tune and production. The voice (even thought I can't understand French) really adds emotional depth to the song. My only nit-pick is that I think the voice comes in too loud. But Myck has a great voice. Downloaded. Terrific job all around, guys! [ Reply to This ]
Excellent &mdash 01/17/07 - 11:38:35 PM
The original, and the ziti jam versions are both great; here Myck's singing makes for a completely new feeling to the song. The vocals are superb and fit perfectly, though they do seem loud in the mix to me. Very cool. [ Reply to This ]
Excellent collab! &mdash 01/18/07 - 01:48:45 AM
The best of Einar (well aren't they all?!) and Myck, someone I haven't heard before (but will listen to more of in future0! Great backing track Einar - very interesting sounds and light and shade. Myck's vocals sound amazing - maybe a track for French radio here.
Excellent production too - really good to hear another song in a language other than English.
Peace,

beautiful &mdash 01/18/07 - 04:08:05 PM
I agree with Craft about the mix of the vocals: in some parts they are a tidy bit too much to the forefront. But apart from that: very enchanting vocalising. Layered on Einar's perfect soundfield. 'J'avance, mais pourtant je recule' is a very neat metaphor. This was really a joy to listen to. Thanks to both of you.

So cool... &mdash 01/18/07 - 04:13:14 PM
...to see how another 'voice' changes and colors a composition.
A really nice joining of talents, here.
I also have to agree that the main vox seems a bit too upfront at times, but what a great combination :)
kudos! [ Reply to This ]
wow Einarus &mdash 01/19/07 - 08:52:31 PM
a very wonderful pop sensability... I love the changes that you take this through... Old man to young man... I wish I knew back then what you obviously know now... I don't know any french, yet the music speaks powerfully through the language barrier... you are a gifted producer too
exellent [ Reply to This ]
did everything right here! &mdash 01/20/07 - 08:06:05 PM
the intro is fascinating. love the distant piano. rich textures and smooth mix. my only critique is that i think the verse vocals could sit back in the mix just a tad. great tune! [ Reply to This ]
nice &mdash 01/20/07 - 08:08:15 PM
Thanks for plugging this einarus. I never would have been able to hear this any where else than macjams. Listening to this great piece makes me realize how much I hate what's on the radio!!! Really nice vocals Myck. The vocals are very front but the vocals are so sweet, I don't mind.
Look fwd. to hearing more from both of you. [ Reply to This ]
Wow &mdash 01/20/07 - 09:17:14 PM
great arrangement I only wish I could understand the lyrics sounds very moving [ Reply to This ]
This is great! &mdash 01/21/07 - 09:26:01 AM
Well done Einarus! The vocals are great, and my limited French speaking brain likes the meaning of the lyrics (well, the every third word that I understand). Production is great! [ Reply to This ]
Great production - wonderful mix &mdash 01/21/07 - 09:33:47 AM
really like your instrumentation and colors. The vocals are very passionate and are worked into the mix really well. Glad I found my way here - I'll be back. [ Reply to This ]

I am so glad you stopped by so I could find you! I really enjoyed this piece and will be checking out your others as well! (thanks for the wonderful comment on Moorlandt's Reverie).
This is uplifting and rich...I love the chord progressions you use...the vocals are a wonderful compliment to the emotion already inherent in your sound bed...a great combination!! Congratulations! [ Reply to This ]
NICE!!! &mdash 01/24/07 - 04:39:48 PM
don't take it the wrong way, but in a good way it sounds like something (at least parts of it) that could be a eurovision top 10 :)
Very nice voice!
Thanks! [ Reply to This ]

Einar, all I can say is that EVERYTHING I hear of yours impresses me. It always sounds completely professional, as though written by a master who had been making hits in the pop music industry for years. First class work! [ Reply to This ]
