Description:
Made on an iMAC
this is my first try as a blues style tune with break beats for my drum sample
the vocal recording is in need of some work I doubeld the trac and phased it through a filter to give the trippy effect.
all music is performed by myself
lirics written by myself

Lyrics:
You take the shortest train to the far side of town, and you dont get off when it turns around you stay onboard for one more round......

Chours) you just a killing time ..killing time yah yah yah
Cause its the usual story of sleepy Ned, he hasnt got the courage to get out of bed, he`s scared of life and mabey he`s better off

Chours) you just a killing time ..killing time yah yah yah
See I had my eye on this girl for years, but I just couldent tell her I had too many fears, and she`d look at me with her smiling eyes and I`d look right back..then I`d go home!!?.
Chours) you just a killing time ..killing time yah yah yah
Now you only live once so live it well, but just keep in mind there`s a heaven and hell, and dont worry about me I`ll be fine...........
I`ll be killing time
I`m a killing time

Good stuff &mdash 01/16/07 - 10:44:20 PM
There is a lot that is really good here and had me trippin out.
I like the drums even though they are quite hot in the mix. I like the guitars especially the lead which could perhaps stand out in the mix a little bit.

Tell me about your vocal mic and set up. I agree that it could still use a little bit of work. In a couple of places it sounds like you could have used a good pop filter and in ta couple of places it sounds really harsh.

This song is railly nice with great lyrics ... I'm glad you posted it.

production level, very good, like the guitar a lot, drum loops are what they are although you did vary them a little , something I should do more, Vocal sounded good too, thanks for sharin'

for the comment, all criticisim is helpful good or bad, in fact there is no bad
I thought i`d let you know I put the other verson of this song that I recorded with an actual drummer with a pop filter on my mic and lots of compression on my voice, problem was at the time I didnt want it to be a rock song the drummer got carried away and sped it up , all I had was 3 hrs booked so I didnt go back and slow it down, it was orgionally made for an acoustic guitar at a slower bluesy pace ,

Nice idea to use breakbeats for blues &mdash 01/20/07 - 08:18:30 PM
this is workin really well - dig the guitar and vox - the overall vibe is good - but I agree that the drums are a little hot and the lead too low. Minor crits. Welcome to MJJ - you're off to a great start.

i was reading... &mdash 02/11/07 - 03:55:29 PM
...your bio, and i laughed to myself. i remember recording things betweentwo ghetto blasters, trying to balance the tae volume with that of your guitar/voice/hands slappingknees because you don't have a drummer...ahh, the good old days.
anyway, i like the picture, singing in your living room, guitar in lap. thatls such a familiar setting for me.
cool tune, i think i like this better than the original demo version. i just got my i-mac too, and i'm faced with the dilema of recording everything again from scratch, or just moving on with new inspirations. it's tough because i've never had this quality to work with, so i wonder what i could do with the old jams.
keep on truckin' man.
