nice one &mdash 01/17/07 - 04:31:23 PM
...enjoyed the groovy rhythm you have going here.
A jazzy hook-line to fall back on every now and then could be interesting to hear in this one...

Another great improv, and &mdash 01/17/07 - 04:53:00 PM
It will be interesting to hear what words get written to this. Really nice rhythmn. I can hear SISTERS doing this one, for sure. Very cool ending, and nice artwork, too. :-)

yes .. I can hear them doing it too, maybe because I've been listening so much to them these days :-)

Good to hear you ....... &mdash 01/17/07 - 05:46:07 PM
......... getting aggressive Curry ;) I think there will be a lot of interest in collabbing here, and it will be very interesting to see where it ends up. Hearing you do this is really interesting because I was just thinking the other day that it would be interesting to hear you doing something with a little bit more rhythmic stuff happening - and voila!!!!!
The guitar sounds SO GOOD!

You get great tone out of that nylon string guitar... &mdash 01/17/07 - 08:10:58 PM
...with the AG Stomp... it's quite remarkable...

Almost like a cross between a nylon string and steel string sound... You're able to get a nice bite...

I really like the rhythmic feel on this. Actually reminds me of a bit of some of Neil Young's stuff... Very song-like... doesn't have to remain an instrumental for long...

Beautiful graphic, too...

Am often amazed myselfabout the combination of these two Yamaha products - the guitar and the AG Stomp - (actually I bought the stomp long before the guitar to use with a B-band-miked steel stringed guitar, but that combination never worked out well so I was disappointed .. there was actually a time when I planned to sell the stomp .. but when I got the Yamaha nylon stringed, it all became different (and now the B-band-miked steel stringed is sold instead)).

.. 'a cross between a nylon string and steel string sound' .. Yes those John Pearse strings actually are a combination of steel and nylon and other materials too .. very odd product indeed and they add a new interesing dimension to guitar sound and playing ..

.. 'graphic' .. is taken in dim bulb light without flash .. finally been able to purchase a decent camera .. the Canon entry-level Powershot A430 .. their cheapest, but after many hours of searching budget cameras and reading reviews, I am convinced this one is a superior choice .. and I am not dissapointed .. got it two days ago so the best is yet to come I hope..

Nice one .. &mdash 01/18/07 - 08:21:59 AM
.. love the fat sound Johannes. Nice free flowing composition too .. I also must say like the way you hit with your nails and move closer to the bridge for nice tonal changes in this. (I tend to stay over the hole all the time and use a pick - so I really appreciate and admire this style). Enjoyed alot.

Man! &mdash 01/18/07 - 01:10:48 PM
Utterly groovacious Curry. I wish I had some time to devote to this. But I'm so swamped right now. I hope you get a lot of takers bro. This is good stuff as is, but I can see it functioning as a catalyst for some great tuneage.

Be well!

rich growly sweetness &mdash 01/18/07 - 01:52:29 PM
This is a great sound... deep, rhythmic, driving, slightly gritty, and it has the jazzy rhythmic feel I associate somewhat with Michael Hedges... I love your nuances.. I can sometimes hear some vibrato on the strings, really subtle, but elevates this above just "great" acoustic guitar work to downright stunning. Gorgeous by itself... hopefully anything that gets overlaid on this does not obscure these underlying gems.

Michael Hedges &mdash 01/18/07 - 11:36:07 PM
Like changes.. Your changes suprise, unexpected yet musical... I did enjoy hearing you with a litttle more attack and the aggressive percusive approach... this has a real attitude... a player of your caliber, I shouldn't be suprised... anyway the lyrics came to me as I listened

Eyed love to produce the puppy!!!

It's exactly what it wants to be on it's own, to say the least!!!

Some Michael Hedges goin on in there, but really, it's Cori let his hair down in a mighty fine way.

This is sooooo nyyyyyyyyyyyyce!!! Man this one really took me on a nice trip.

Now you've gone and made me come up w/ 'what is my favorite tune of Cori's'...

I'm totally, totally dign' this!

Yep! Beautiful, my friend!

Nice progression &mdash 01/20/07 - 04:28:23 PM
You left plenty of room there for someone else... Just wanted to no if you used a metronome? There is a lot of emotion and strength coming from those chords. The use of the chords emulate open strings. Curious what the outcome will be. I'm interested in taking a shot at it. Thanks for sharing.

Great groove &mdash 01/29/07 - 08:46:11 AM
Really nice piece.

I'd been thinking about the AG Stomp for my nylon string, too. This definitely confirms the quality. They've discontinued the model, though.

What's the piezo in your guit? I've got a B-Band.

Colourful chords &mdash 01/31/07 - 06:36:15 PM
You use some great chords in this curry - I love those close harmonies, the 9ths n 11ths (i think) and there was one chord you only used once that is a particular favourite of mine but i dont know what its called.Had a kind of folky darkness about it too which means it would be great to listen to down by the river some evening when it stops raining

You're a master of this &mdash 02/09/07 - 01:12:41 PM
Really strong playing ... dark and powerful, and a wonderful reminder of what a versatile musician you are and how much you can get out of a solo guitar!

Oooh, I have a Yamaha APX too, but mine's a 12-string. And I can't play it like that! :)

Nice acoustic piece. This took me totally by surprise since its classified under Jungle. I had been expecting some synth based amen break type stuff, but I got this real gentle guitar piece. You say people should feel free to use this, I may well have to do that :)
