Description:
re-arranged ver to the original
Urban Crusade http://www.macjams.com/song/25190
Lyrics:
late afternoon right before sunset takes place
i move my steps towards an urban
thought there could be an excitement
yet hailed by another dissapointment
will it be the same old being asked- away?
will it be the same old being bored- away?
will it be the same old being stressed- away?
will it be the same old being kicked- away?
on an empty street where all the crowds went by
i grabbed the light blinked by an old-van
thought that could be an excitement
yet bullied by another disappointment
yes, thought that was an excitement
yet fooled by another frustration
will it be the same old being astray?
will it be the same old being bored- away?
will it be the same old being stressed- away?
will it be the same old being kicked- away?
i'll stay in the street
i'll stay in the street

i dig &mdash 01/18/07 - 03:51:58 AM
Usually, I'd get really annoyed with the minimal instrumentation of any song, but this is a huge exception- mostly because the piano, weird little synth, tom-toms, strings, and occasional bass are enough, and composed awesomely. And who could leave out the vocals? Although they're a bit hard to understand at times, they keep the whole song flowing. You've got an awesome voice, and great songwriting skills. My only suggestion to you is to make the intro to the song a tad bit shorter, because it kinda seemed like it dragged on too long. Otherwise, great song! Keep it up! [ Reply to This ]
banging &mdash 01/18/07 - 08:47:30 AM
Well done love the heavy drum and all the rest. Your composition is very complex but simple and well rounded , and oh yes your lyrics are stirring and well written you have a way of putting emotion into your song through your singing. Only one thing the horn sounding synth should be changed to something more real like a trumpet but that is only my opinion, besides that I think this song is done perfect 2 thumbs up from me LOL!! if i heard this on radio i would have said "this is haribo, i know the guy from macjams.com". you got the style going - very original - doesn;t really remind me of anything else... i mean, i listened to other tunes you have here, it's not just this one... i agree with the previous post, you're great songwriter... take care [ Reply to This ]

This is cool and trippy! COuld use a little work on the drum sound and the mixing! Has cool dynamics though! Nice one man! [ Reply to This ]
Almost celestial &mdash 01/18/07 - 01:41:01 PM
I dig you vocals so much. I like this dreamier version, it goes so well with the lyrics, altho I prefer the more rhythmic earlier version, all things considered. If you wanted to go with more ambience, the random cymbals seem beside the point and might be better served with more eclectic tinkling and other stereo-field sounds, perhaps a more ethnic cymbal samples too. I like these slower vocals, the more space, the starfield, but my ears thought it a tad too improvised sounding, haphazard as opposed to free flowing and celestial. Also, I wanted the lower drums to used a more Celtic feel to drive them. But this is a very cool experiment; I just feel like it isn't quite it yet. However, it is a joy to listen to you. And the ending is great. [ Reply to This ]

Good very good &mdash 01/19/07 - 12:19:47 PM
Great vocals,,, This is a great example of less is more. I try and live by that theory. The mix is well done. Maybe clean up some high end on the mix. Great melody!!! [ Reply to This ]
