Nice Vocals &mdash 01/20/07 - 10:57:07 PM
I like the vocals on this one. How did you get that sound? I would like to see the lyrics posted. Nice guitar work too. I would like the guitar to be a little louder though, especially in the solo during the 1st and 2nd bridge. I think it might also be a little lenghty. Nicely mixed.

Vocals &mdash 01/21/07 - 02:58:39 PM
Thanks for the comments, and for listening.

Well, to get the vocals...I used the vocal transfromer set to "deep soulful",
with the EQ set to "Increase attack and also set to Bass Amp/Rock edge Bass amp and of course the overall setting is through Guitars, not vocals.

When you are not a singer, you need all you can get.

SLOBBLE BLEUS &mdash 01/21/07 - 08:16:58 PM
Nice sound jasper! Diggin the groove and the vox! All around around great track! Put some bass on this pup and thicken those drums and you've got a hit!

Thanks for listening, and the suggestions. Good thoughts on the production.
I hope to spiff it up soon.

True grit! &mdash 01/22/07 - 06:15:20 PM
Amazing guitar! Burn it up man. This is more raw than an open sore. Hot slide work! Kudos!

Be well!

The blues hurt. I love the open sore thing. Thanks for taking the time to listen,
and I appreciate your comments.

Impressive song &mdash 01/24/07 - 11:27:17 PM
I just wouldn't call it "blues (traditional)". But impressive it is. Good guitar work, simple but effective, and your treatment of the vocals also adds to the impact of the song.

Exceptional production choices on this &mdash 02/01/07 - 10:32:51 PM
The lo-fi on the drums and the voice are perfect. The voice almost takes the place of the sound of the Harmonica through a green bullet mic. It has that same distortion that works extremely well here.. Excellent use of the tremolo on the backing guitar tracks too.

Lo-fi... &mdash 02/11/07 - 12:48:41 PM
Thanks for your comments. I always experiment with deconstructing the production value a bit. The whole less is more, never too many tracks, etc.
Appreciate you listening.

I see what you mean in the Macjams Blog thing about Hendrix as an influence ;-)

Nice - in fact, verging on Monster.
