Description:
This song is ALL vocal with 8 part harmonies, originally done by The Little River Band way back when.
It was something I listened to a lot when I was a kid because I was always impressed by the awesome harmonies.
This composition is how I remember it and is a bit different that the original.
I did all the vocals, recorded in succession using a single Audio Technica ATR-30 Mic in Garage Band and then overlaying the 8 vocal tracks, adjusting volumes, etc.
I just love the sound of deep rich harmonies and although there are a couple spots where I sort of "missed" it, the overall sound comes through pretty nice and of course the lyrics are neat because they appeal to feelings that everyone can relate to.
I hope you enjoy it. This is my second posting on Macjams, the first was yesterday of an all original song called Now and Tomorrow.
Thanks.

I'm a SUCKER for harmonies... especially vocal. Of course,
this is one of my favorites. Nice message too. Ever heard
of Take 6? Swingle Sisters? The Bobs?

I just got back from a vacation, and was going to update
this, but after seeing your comments, I think I will just
leave well enough alone.
The Little River Band certainly deserves the credit for the
lyrics.
I am really stoked that you guys liked it! :-)

This is a perfect last song on an album. What wonderful
richness you've achieved in your vocals. Honest
pronunciations and just tight enough harmonies.
Excellent rendition of this classic a cappella folk song.
Thank you for reminding me of its peace and power. [ Reply to This ]
