This is really gorgeous Enrique! Surely my fave of all of your pieces. Do I hear a few echoes of Liszt? Really nice composition, and yes...quite romantic!

Be well!

Very romantic &mdash 01/25/07 - 04:36:25 PM
an outstanding composition in the traditon of Schumann, Chopin or Liszt...

Thanks for sharing!

BTW, I am interested in buying a new digital piano. Have you some info about your experiences with your Yamaha? I have a 10 years old GEM RPS, which encounters some problems with the keyboard...

Hello &mdash 01/25/07 - 06:05:23 PM
I am glad you liked it. As fas as pianos/keyboards go, remember I am not a professional musician, but I have been very pleased with my Clavinova CVP-98, which I purchased more than 5 yrs ago. It was not cheap, but it was worth it. I also have an accoustic piano but most of my playing time is in my Yamaha. When my wife lets me, I would love to buy a Synclavier Grand Piano

I would like to have a real piano, but headphones are more family compatible, when you like to play at 3:00 AM...

My "GEM Real Piano Studio" has a great sound, but I've had some troubles with it, three times I had to change the sustain pedal, which has a very interesting analog function and works nearly like a real one (if it works...) and some other technical problems, like not working switch for the speaker shut off during headphone, an "E1" key, which has a different velocity...

So I am searching for more durability...

Ahhh.... &mdash 01/25/07 - 05:04:22 PM
Yes, romantic and nostalgic, and playful.. Really pretty. The ending seems abrupt to me, though, like it wasn't quite finished. I guess I wanted it to be longer.:-)

Marvelous composition Enrique! I, too, wanted it to be longer.

God bless,

Enrique, you always transport us to another century and this time is no exception. You would have fit in quite well in the company of Chopan. Gentle and flowing your piece is with a lovely longing melody. Beautiful and beautifully played.
Best

Thank you &mdash 01/28/07 - 03:14:08 AM
It is great how this community works. I had never shared my music before, and the first time I posted here I was a little embarrased not knowing if anybody would like it. I really appreciate your comments. Greetings from California!

Remarkable &mdash 01/28/07 - 11:08:11 PM
I listened to a few of your other posts, and was adequately impressed, but what I like about this post is the warmth and clarity of your piano playing. I would be curious to know how you record this. Do you use layers for the melody? The composition strikes me as surprisingly original and mature, only because it is quite rare to find good piano music with a fresh, yet distincly classical feel to it. To me this piece is not even romantac or nostalgic - it's simply beautiful and inspiring. All good!

Hello &mdash 01/28/07 - 11:55:53 PM
Thank you for your comments. I do not use layers. I only use one track since I play it all at the same time. I just sit and start playing for a few minutes. If i like it, I keep it. If I don't, I delete it and start playing again until it sounds good. I then glue the pieces together. The only change a make is in some of the pieces I speed up the playing a little bit. I could play it, but would make a few mistakes and it would take longer fixing than creating.
My main problem now is finding a great piano sound. I have been lately using the Gran Piano Yamaha that comes with LE but I have to keep tweaking the parametes and still haven't found the right sound. Any suggestions are appreciated.
