Dark and driving &mdash 08/02/04 - 11:01:24 AM
Very cool guitar groove, dark and driving. Nice choice in
differing effects. Nice stylings on the melody line.
Perhaps there could be apart in which you change up on
the vocal effects, just to pop you out of the effects box
you put your voice in. The melodic part when you sing
"am I crazy like a fox" didn't seem as compelling as the
spotlight moment called for, as if you are missing a
chance right there in the music. I don't mind the abrupt
ending, but I'd cut out the technicians voice. Really good
track.

Technicians voice...ha, ha missed that entirely somehow. Your comment on the xerox line... I completely agree with you on this. It should deffinitely jump out. I also either want to down-tempo or develop a bridge segment into an entirely different direction sonically. Thank you for your input, it is much appreciated.

Hey Tobin--This is MiMi here, really great to have some feedback, I've been "mommying' for the past-almost-two-years(October will be). Jeremy has so many projects going at once, he forgets that I never had the chance to finish--I wrote and recorded this in about three hours when I could steal some midnight oil after the babe was asleep! At the time I was under the impression that it was going to be part of a soundtrack and wrote some twisty thoughts that were related in a really bent way, only to find out that I had been mislead! I sorta liked it anyway--as did Jeremy! As usual lately, I recorded under conditions that were not freeing to me--(shhhh! don't wake baby!), so my vocal style is a little cryptic, and not as well thought out as I would like either, hence the effects! Saw your profile, heard some of your music, and just wanna extend my mutual admiration for your impressive and prolific efforts! You are adventurous, indeed! This is a very good thing!

I can't quite put my finger on it &mdash 08/05/04 - 09:40:23 PM
but I love your sound. Your vocal style is very original and
the songs are very engaging. Maybe I'm overrating this
song but I gave it 8:8:9:8

I, too hope you're not over-rating it. Thanks!

dark and mysterious &mdash 08/05/04 - 10:49:04 PM
You get a very dark, atmospheric sound on this track with
the processed vocals -- Mimi, I like the way you waver the
pitch up and down at times, nice effect! Great guitar too,
Jeremy; it's almost ominous (in a cool way).

Yes, I would agree with Tobin that this tune needs more of
a high point, a culmination. With a little more adjustments
this can be a truly great track.

The Tea Party &mdash 08/05/04 - 11:01:42 PM
This has so much going for it! Your vocal style, and chord
changes, reminds me of The Tea Party and Coldplay (this
is good!). I think the sound of your voice has that "edge".
Singing after midnite and a bit hushed has a great appeal
to it!

Thanks again for the encouragement, MaMaMiMi here. I love Coldplay. The Tea Party has eluded me (unlike Birthday Party). I must seek it out! I like tea!
Thanks kind sir.

MILLT &mdash 08/05/04 - 11:40:18 PM
I wish there were no distortion on the guitar for the
verse... just liquidy, clean, panning plucky notes. It's very
Alice in Chainsy, and the distortion sounds good with the
chorus...

Vocals are good too. I can't believe a Mom can make
music like this! I guess that makes you a MILLT (Mother I
Like to Listen To). LOL. Good song, production isn't
perfect, but it's a solid song.

MILLT almost spells MILK. I think I need a nap, puns are usually better than that! haha... I hope there is some kernal of my own identity left. Apparently you feel it, thanks fosod.-m

Does feel like it's in the making as you state, but
very cool so far! Reminds me a bit of Alice in Chains,
what with that dark flavor. "Technician's voice"....
heh! I've actually heard a few songs out there where
they keep it in... but probably not the best for this
song.

The influence I hear is "Garbage"...

Funny you should mention Garbage. Right before they formed Vig was giving me a listen as a singer, then all hell broke loose. Wonder who my nanny and housekeeper would be today if that had worked out....haha!

Hmm, note taken on the "t.v." We'll have to examine that...thanks again....

i love it.....clarity of the drums and distorted guitar are a
perfect foil for the excellent vocals.....

Did I manage to say thanks--mcboy? I was really tired that night....haha...Well, thanks!
And just a mental note, there's some suspiciously low marks on this track--is this a "bombing?"--I'm a novice at this......M.....anyone?

seems like free association-although it has a decent narrative, i like the
production, even the lil' blurb at the end--but i like that homemade feel...
i think it is crazy like a fox...
