Description
"Our Son Billy" was written and recorded 30 years ago in Rota, Spain on a Teac reel-to-reel tape deck. This is another of the many songs I wrote and recorded back then that I was recently able to capture off the old tape.
Both my singing and guitar playing are on one track, so I wasn't able to do much to clean it up. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy it.

Lyrics
Our Son Billy
In the early evenin’ light,
Soakin’ up the last of the sun.
Our boy and I are fishin’, just him and me,
We’re havin’ some Dad and son fun.
All alone, and together,
Talkin’ of things we have done.
Throw out your line now, they’re bitin’.
Watch your float now, tell me what you want to become.
Chorus
He said, “Hey Dad, whatcha asking?
You know I’m gonna be just like you.”
I said, “No, it’s not fittin’ to be like me.
You should do all that I could not do.”
Chorus
Now I’m thinkin’ of the future,
And all the changes it will bring.
I wonder if he’ll take my advice,
And make his own way in this world.
Chorus
He’s our boy…
Chorus:
Our son Billy,
He’s sometimes silly.
He’s one of a kind, he’s a friend of mine,
He’s our boy.

A lean style, a nice voice and a clean guitar playing. Simply fine, pleasant to listen. I like this. Bravo...
