Description:
The demo version of You. It was originally posted as Experimental. Main difference at the moment is that the vocals were recorded. I know the mix still isn't quite right, but we're still in the process of arrangement and rerecording it onto DP 5. Also, there's still no bass guitar and the drums are still loops. Bass and a real acoustic kit are being recorded for it soon. Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Hardware:
MOTU 896HD, Line 6 Pod XT Live, Warrior Z-Knight Guitar, Shure SM57, Rode NT1-A, Krank Revolution Series 1 Head

Software:
Garageband

You're on the right track! &mdash 01/29/07 - 08:22:18 PM
Sounds good so far. I'd likely turn the vocals up a touch, to me they seem to be lost in there somewhere at the very beginning of the song. But after that they seem to be better placed, once the electric guitar fades out and then fades back in. It may just be the speakers that I'm listening on, but I could swear that I heard a little vocal clipping in there somewhere. It sounds a little distorted here and there.

Really digging the guitar solo, it's sweat!

For a rough track though, I definitely think that you're on the right track. Can't wait to hear a more polished version!

Thanks &mdash 01/29/07 - 10:53:09 PM
Thanks. You're right about the vocals. They do come in a bit low at the beginning and they do clip in there. I'll have to have her stand back a bit on the louder parts she does. I can't wait to finish this one off. Thanks for the comment and advise.

just my personal idea but u could get a fuller guitar sound. my styles could give u an idea of what i mean but something like ibanez black noise peddle is what i was thinking but it's a great song and i'm sure in stereo would sound even better... rock on guys

Cool &mdash 01/30/07 - 11:00:31 AM
I'll have to work on the guitar sound. I wonder if it's a mixing thing or my micking technique? I'll try some other things. It's going to be rerecorded on DP 5 within the next week or so, so hopefully I'll be able to do some finer tweaking than what I originally done. Thanks for the input.

Real new to recording on computer, but I like your stuff.
Still truing to figure out how to lay down drums, but I hope to learn that real soon.

I play bass, so if I can help putting bass on some of your songs, just drop me a line
