I Don't Want to Sleep

Description
Written as one of a collection of songs about phobias, this one pokes fun at Hypnophobia- Fear of sleep.

I used various apple loops in Logic Express to create the rhythm tracks. The guitar parts were recorded by Murray Peisakoff, playing a Fender Strat into a POD 2. The vocals were recorded primarily with an AKG 414 and Presonus Eureka preamp. The vocal harmonies were created with a Yamaha Pitchfix plug-in.

Lyrics
As I get ready for bed tonight, my heart is beating
And if I choke from the cheap perfume, I might stop breathing

Will they take me away with red flashing lights?
I don't want to Sleep tonight
Can we just leave on the light?

The pale blue blue glow from the clock is bright, hours 'till morning
And if I find it gets hard to breath, they'll be no warning

I don't want to sleep tonight
Is my collar on too tight?

Sweet Dreams
i like this tune. music is solid, sounds all of a piece - with just a tinge of the Key of Dark Phobia. it's the vocals bursting with vibrato that sold me, tho. nice job on the harmony. good job! and nighty nite - anne

Thanks-
Thanks for the complement on the harmonies. Unlike you (who has great harmonies that they sang with raw talent) I did mine with a plug-in in Logic Express. (Yamaha Pitch fix)

Very good...
with the arrangement and production. I felt a little off balance having the rhythmic piano in the right pan only. I think this song might benefit from a balance more in the center than on either sides. When the drums and bass come in it seems to balance fairly. Very good production nonetheless and flows within itself nicely. I really like the coughing part!!! :) Adds great character.
