Description:
teenage-angst garage from the Gnotic disco series. This was first proposed as a Monggsongg by Brentford K.sound, but was just too good to be wasted on the Monngz. It defined what the "gnostic disco" thing would be but has a more "mono" mix than the rest of the songs. This has been posted before in a somewhat rougher version.
Lyrics:
I detest reading a newspaper in the rain
I detest your hair as they clog the drain
I detest sitting next to a stranger in a train
I detest the media junk that sticks to my brain
I detest
I detest
The things you love the best
I detest
I detest
And I don’t like the rest
I detest sleeping in someone’s else sheets
I detets the lovers who are kissing in the streets
I detest the straight and I detest the creeps
I detest your guitar while it gently weeps
I detest the madman that speaks on his own
I detest the trader talking to his cellphone
I detest all the things people say when they’re down
I detest the face of someone that’s just won
I detest seeing a bourgeois play the punk
I detest seeing a white guy playing funk
I detest seeing a young girl kissing a hunk
I detest seeing my father when he’s drunk
I detest
I detest
But I make my best
I detest
I detest
To try and love the rest

very raw, direct, and nasty. I think the over-amped, saturated sound works perfectly for this song. I got about 500 4-tracks from the 80's just like it. Thanks for digin' it up. I dug. [ Reply to This ]

You should hear (or shoudn't) our 80s four-tracks songs. This is sleek and overproduced compared to them. Apparently we like our wall of sound with broken glass and barbed wire on top.

not necessarily stoned, but beautiful [ Reply to This ]

maybe it's your fearless approach towards songwriting that I'm so overwelmed by, but this song is simple in structure and effective in it's mood, attitude and style and it's exactly what I want to hear when there's nothing that I wanna hear. Know what I mean? [ Reply to This ]

This was Brentford trying to out-mongg the Monggz and the rough sketch for every gnostic disco song. I find it uncanny to see how easily I connect with the angry moody teenager in me.
