Ohhh Lets see... there was this thread here see http://www.macjams.com/forum/viewtopic.php?forum=22;showtopic=74927 .. all about muses and what not...

Lovely Rebsie pointe dme towards it because.. well I worship Muses.. very literally and in oh so many different ways. Anyways I found myself inspired and layed this one out the last few days. There are some loops and samples you might recognize sorry about that but I think they still sound good in this mix.

Besides this one is all about inspiration:P
Thanks for the thread!

Ok dude.. you are not human are you? You're some human mimic program, Doofy built to respond to poor schlocks such as me self, right? Either that or you actually like what Im doing.. or maybe youre just a really nice and supportive guy :) Any ol' way ya cut it .. I am always happy to get a comment from you:)

Thank ya kindly for the always groovy words !!

Hey Didge, I actually did enjoy listening... it fit really well with the stoned of mind I was in. As for being a human mimic program, yes, you are the first to catch on. Seriously, this is cool; it melts into the background, creating a nice exotic atmosphere.

wecome back! &mdash 02/03/07 - 06:47:33 PM
Way to shake that didge... nice build, interesting effects and sounds bubbling around my head here, as usual. Your stuff always grabs ahold and takes me on your trip, and it usually takes me a while afterward to figure out where you dropped me off, so I can return to wherever I was... which oh by the way, you moved while I wasn't looking, so I never really can come back. But that's OK, it's always a sparkly pretty new place you leave me, thanks!

Why thank ye noble nd kind Dragon :) &mdash 02/04/07 - 10:35:48 AM
Hehheehe, I came back a few weeks ago with Deeper Inside (which like this, needs uber work)... the one good thing about Creatrix is that Ive finally mastered the 31 band eq so that I can take out the annoying ringing harmonic overtone on my live didge tracks.. which will make mix downs a lot more easier on me. I also feel the need to move back to more structured songs from me instead of relying on all my MJ buddies to make a nice song and then allowing me to play in it :)

ALso Deeper Inside has..... errmm, some funny widdle vox in it by moi and it didnt go over as badly as I thought it would so more of that as well.

I hope as spring warms your beautiful scales you will consider a new project with me ?? Something big and dramatic??? Thanks for always being around, my friend and Ill grab a listen to your new post ASAP.

Always very sweet to hear such things are noticed and well recieved. I especially like the relaxed/full of energy bit you said. Whenever listeners pull out a duality like that from my sounds I have achieved something... as that is usually what Im trying to get across in my most base creative structure.

Thanks so much for listening!

Excellent programming &mdash 02/04/07 - 10:53:22 AM
This is a nice and dense texture, homogeous yet varied, looped yet not boring, and with beautiful tone colours. Your didgeridoo is almost hidden, but its presence contributes a good consistency to this track. I like this sort of "world electronica". It combines the real and the synthetic in a very nice way. Compliments.

Victor

Thanks so much.....!!! &mdash 02/04/07 - 11:17:03 AM
"World Electronica" describes it beautifully... mixing in and down live organic instruments with these high and low quality loops and samples.. well its an obesseive art form I think in general anyways lol but yeah I am loving going this route. Im buying a huge looops package called World Pack from zero-g and probably will get the Symphony Jampack in the next week. That will help me really move into what Im trying to get across.

My mail is enbaled I swear... check your mailbox :)

Not to completely change the subject or anything &mdash 02/04/07 - 02:33:35 PM
But I received my World Pack from zero-g and it is mightily cool!! Didge, you're going to love it. Vic is right that this sounds "world electronica"... I love that sound (and check out the band "Transglobal Undergrond" for some of the best).

My next posting is going to heavily feature the Indian chanting from the World Pack. And I think there's a good chance I will be leaning on that pack heavily for a while :)

Very cool! &mdash 02/06/07 - 07:51:26 AM
I ordered mine up yesterday!.. and was going to write and ask you if ha dgotten yours and how it sounded. THe only thing I am worried about is loop quality as far as actually looping it goes (i.e. are they seamless)??

I cant wait! Even paid the extra 10 to get it here by THursday:) Trans U is a fave already, a beeeg fave!

I am salivating to hear your next piece... (me thinks about dropping another hint here about collabing, hehhehe).

Many Muses to you my friend:)

All re-used elements here sound fine &mdash 02/04/07 - 04:10:10 PM
I very much like the sound you've built up here, a sort of churning metallic aboriginal electronica.

"churning metallic aboriginal electronica" ...yeah.. that will cover it! Thanks muchly for catching a listen Mungo and the assurance of loops sounding ok... so hard not to feel a lil odd using so many and not changeing them too much.

Thanks again Mungo :) It is very appreciated

Solid ... &mdash 02/05/07 - 06:55:40 PM
.. and what a good mixer you are too! and good to see
the 'A' didge is still going strong ;o) and this supportive role you adopted for in this blends seemlessly - although I dig that whopping slowly rising ending a great 'chop' you did too ;o) .. you know
the bit I mean surely ..lol.

It's a really smooth, trip ..
very tastefully done: good use of loops/percussion and different sound textures - throughout ..great variety, gobsmacked - I'm lucky if I can blend a couple of loops in.

Coincidently I went for a dabble in the more electronica side of things too recently but I think I had more caffeine and nicotine gum than you.. now get over there! - he hinted ..lol.

Keep 'em coming - there's a muse loose aboot this hoos!

Lol! &mdash 02/06/07 - 08:04:20 AM
I love that A didge.. it really does have its own personailty. and many blushings at the compliments . I love the big whollop chop bit as well an aural orgasm if you will :-)

YOu really think its a smooth blend eh? I got that in another comment to. I guess I must be getting better at it (so I say 1000 listens later hehehe).

Going over to groove on your electronica piece right now!.. and humble apologies for not getting there sooner !

More joose for the muse loose in this hoose!

ambience with a Captital A &mdash 02/07/07 - 02:12:31 PM
Jason, what a remarkable track. I often listen to MJ as background while I do my grunt day gig. After I finished this I played it again and then immediately listened to "deeper inside". Maybe I was thinking less was more. Really quite a talent you have for opening the consciousness into the big room of ambient artifacts. It takes skill (and subtle restraint) to craft something this fluid. Its quite calming, edgy and cool. I could try to decribe my favorite part, it only appears once, sort of like a huge growl that develops into a bite :-) about 4/5th's the way thru. trippy fun

What an incredibly sweet compliment Karma :) &mdash 02/09/07 - 08:34:38 AM
The way it affected you is exactly what I aim for. I am really incredibly pleased, with your comment. Thanks for the compliments as well... its a total trip to have someone hear the subtelties and notice the work it takes to bring it off. lol.. ack.. work?? no wrong word... I guess just time. We all know the labour of love feeling we get from it :)

Yes that growl... lol... someone on the comments on Deeper Inside said that they needed a build up.. a peak moment... so I made sure I had one in this :)

Thanks muchly, peaceful and trippy days to you :)

You are fab, y'know ... &mdash 02/09/07 - 12:59:26 PM
One thing that always amazes me with your stuff is that you continually find new and unusual ways to use the didge. What is essentially a monophonic instrument has an incredible vibrancy and expression when applied to the right lips! And you create these wonderful musical landscapes to slot it into, so that it always sounds fresh and interesting. That occasional twangy sitar-y type thing is lovely, and then there's a kind of 70s keyboard sound in there ... what an amazing original mixture.

If there was ever an advertisement for why an artist should be in touch with his Muses, you are it!

Yay!!! I was hoping... &mdash 02/10/07 - 12:49:28 PM
that someone would notice the funky organ!! Success !! lol.. funny enough playing the didge with the organ bits was... well it transported me to playing live more than anything else.. like I was gigging with someone playing it :)

Your comment is far too generous.. I blush and i thank you and your muses :)

Excellent mix! &mdash 02/12/07 - 06:37:05 PM
Especially loved the second half. The tabla sample is absolutely cool and boy is it fun to hear all these different influences and ethnic instruments mixed into one jar of nutella-thick sweetness. Your didgeridoo merges all the different sounds beautifully. Really enjoyed this one! Awesome!

Oh my!! &mdash 02/17/07 - 01:04:08 PM
Thank you most very kindly :)

The tabla I think is becoming one of my faves for percussion with didge... certainly much easier to noodle with and keep a breath beat on.

I love the thought of Nutella thick goodness! heheheh ... just love it. Im using my didge playing a lot as the binding ingredient in my mix downs rather than the out and out focus... its weird when you hear these songs without the didge, they sort of become extra hollow... the didge lays down very fat and very thick tracks. Thats the nutella thickness I hope you hear :)

Im planning on dropping a song here soon, in two versions with and with out didge. Im also planning on doing a couple of just didge with and without fx. Im really amazed at some of the fx Im getting out of GB and the didge... you cant tell what it is anymore and it allows me to construct entire pieces with nothing but didge and fx! ... hehehe wheeeee!

Thanks again!
