In a very warm place &mdash 02/04/07 - 04:25:55 PM
Very nice beats, and as always you master your vocals perfectly. I think this is one your best ones thus far (of course all in my taste). Very nice mix as well, from beginning to the end. I like the bass and chosen drums.
It is a very hypnotic song, I am drawn into it directly, caught, and never released. This is very good KISMET. Thank you, and Peace to you as well! /Mikki [ Reply to This ]

What i see &mdash 02/04/07 - 05:57:15 PM
What i see when i have my my eyes closed.
I see a room in a big colonial house in the jungle of Vietnam. It is damp and hot, but comfortable. The room is lit by a few candles. The shadows on the walls are changing all the time by the mild breeze that comes through an open window. The drapes are barely moving because of it. I can only see her lying on bed. Besides the flickering light that paints everything in a dark yellowish color, I cant see anything more than her, she beckons me to come. Although i am mostly very shy, i do walk slowly towards to her. I am in the right room, in the right mood and with a mysterious woman i will never posses.
Woosh, my eyes opened...i am all alone now

Transparency into a veiled truth &mdash 02/05/07 - 12:55:42 PM
The singe of lighting a match. Fingertip whispers. Afterglow, memory, dreamscapes, surreal keyhole breathing. Transparency into a veiled truth. Mesmerizing and hip and full of expectation. Really nice. [ Reply to This ]

interesting. &mdash 02/07/07 - 05:35:24 PM
The very understated arrangement leaves it open for a lot of opportunities for remix by some interested guys, as i can read in the responses so far. It stands well as it is, although I was somehow looking food a little bit of a high point or climax instead of a monotonous rhtyhm throughout. The vocals is very good.... I love the subdued emotions you project. I've listened to your other songs and you have a very unique style, never predictable and that's what makes it very interesting. [ Reply to This ]

reduce to the max &mdash 02/10/07 - 07:18:02 PM
Oooh, that upright bass... completely subjective, I know. But I'm just a big sucker for that instrument. Great use of it.
The song: less is more. Dispite Brandon's and Al's proposals to remix it (and I'm sure they will do a master job), it is brilliantly complete to my ears. Reduce to the max. That's a gift. You did so well, K.
Very tastefully chosen sounds. You go so easy and relaxed on it all, vocally I mean. Damned, this should last at least twice as long. Don't be scared to get boring. You never will, because you have that talent.
Creatively, I put you on one line with two other female MJ-ers: Paxeden and Wildcat. The outcome is very different in all three cases, but what you all have in common is this splendid out-of-the-box-thinking approach. Quality stuff it is. And that's not subjective :-)

Calming and evocative &mdash 02/19/07 - 12:12:45 PM
One aspect I find fascinating in you music is the simplicity of your sound and choice of samples. Only the essential rhtyhms and chords/melodies to set a background for you singing. But that's only part of why I like your music, there's also a certain peace and confidence in your work - althought I'm not even sure I understand the lyrics, there's always the feeling of a deep message in your songs. Definitely stands out in a world flooded with what I dare to call "superflous" music (if there even is such a thing!). Full of subtle beautifully executed ideas thoughout. Only in one note towards the end the pitch seems just a tiny bit off, but I'd actually start listening to the radio if they played more songs like this one:) [ Reply to This ]

mesmerizing &mdash 03/17/07 - 08:16:37 PM
Interesting fusion of styles - jazz, electronica, ambient etc etc...and it totally works. I also really like your vocals- they stand well, just simple and running nicely with the song. The effects and tribal pulse help keep the ambient/chilled feel. Really enjoyed listening - d/l'd! [ Reply to This ]
