Description
Just some banging and plucking, to a rhythm of sorts, building to a climax of sorts.

Going nowhere really.

Another delay in your life. Best listened to whilst doing something else so as not to waste time.

am I really the first one here???
Paul, how comes this song didn't get any comments yet? Super chords on the (virtual) guitar, a solid groove, some very nice breaks and a wonderful production.

I understand somehow why you say 'going nowhere really'. And that's my only quibble about the song. With a little bit more work on the architecture, this would be just smashing. Like for instance the beginning of the song which is now too sudden. Also, make it longer (twice as long at least). No need to create any extra chords for that, just some rearrangement, some breaks and modulations will do the job.

Such a pity no more people have heard this great tune...

I sometimes don't understand......
I sometimes don't understand people who listen to music on here. I thought that the rhythm alone was different enough for a comment or two and the fact that it wasn't going anywhere would also elicit one or two opinions, but nada, zilch.

I'm tied up with putting together an electronoclassique piece at the moment, 'A Veil before Her Face', trying to capture early Elizabethan English music with modern day instruments, i.e. sythesized instruments, such as Cello, Flute, Recorder, Harpsichord, Moog and sythesized mixed choir ensemble, with a hint of Middle Eastern spice.

It's not sounding too bad but each idea brings up 3 others, so I'm doing hundreds of takes to try and come up with sounds that fit together, playing music that hopefully sounds pleasing to the ear. No loops here, once I achieve the mix I want.

(And I haven't even thought about the percussion side of the piece).

In other words it could be a while before I revisit this earthy mix (or upload my 'Veil' piece).

Thanks very much for your comments Walter. Always appreciated from you or anyone.

Take care.

Paul.

Patience...
I was a little astounded with the "groove" as Walter puts it (not my usual vocabulary!) and found it to be really compelling in this piece. And the insistant whine near the end that repeats over and over%u2014annoyingly perfect for this piece. You must have called it "Menace" for some reason, right? Actually, I'm not sure this has to actually "GO" anywhere. It is...just where it is. For me, I am happy to let it stand on its own and just knock me down when I listen to it. There is a sly, cool sense of things in their right place here. Glad I listened.

ThankYou!
Really interesting..! I hear a touch of The East & Afrika, a new sound & then again in some way a bit familiar:) It would be a great great story if it was 5 times as long - at least:) It gets my imagination going.. It's the first I hear of You and certainly not the last - really "neat" !(I believe you say in English..)Thanks again

Hi
There are various 'world sounds' within the arrangement. I used mixed samples of diverse instruments to set a flavour with more than one taste, a collage of sounds, including dulcimer, zither, various drums and percussion instruments.

I will make this a bigger/better mix but it will not be in the next few days.

Thanks for listening and commenting.

Hi Paul!
This sounds good. Like Walter I too like the chords, I also like how you describe the way you create your music, a nice insight, I'm not too tecky really but I like what I hear. As for the comments etc, from my limited experience on MJ sometimes it takes a while for people to 'find' you etc.
but it is a great place to be!

Thanks

Steve

Thanks for stopping by...
Steve. I try more and more to explain my creative processes so that others could benefit from my experience. I know that I enjoy the detail on any persons' music and especially so if I enjoyed the piece.

I'll be putting more and more info into my descriptions as I experiment more with my own music and rely less on samples/loops.

I'm happy that you found my words helpful. If you think that there is something that you wanted to know about in any of my pieces, feel free to ask. I have no secrets as far as music production is concerned.

Paul.

I like this! (I'm not a very good critic, so you'll just have to accept me saying things like, "Oh, i really like this!")

Noises from a Blade Runner fan....
The noises within this mix were taken from a group that were supposed to evoke 'Blade-Runner-esque' ambiance.

I'm happy that you stopped by to listen.

Moody Macabre is how I'd button-hole it although 'Oooh' seems reasonable enough. Ha ha.

Take care.

Paul.

I enjoy creating music using computers and 'synthesized' as opposed to 'real' instruments. I have no problem using samples/loops in my music. Everyone does this every time they work with a track. I don't fit in any box and thoroughly enjoy working ou... [see more]
