Modern Blues... Thanks for your comments. I do try to bring my own element to it, all influences, styles, etc. I like a lot of the guys that record for Fat Possum Records, the masters and the new people. Everyone from Junior Kimbrough, RL Burnside, Bob Log to the Black Keys and White Stripes. I have been exposed to a little of James Blood Ulmer, but not a lot. Any special things I should listen to. also I understand he uses some interesting open tunings. Check out my latest song called Whisky Drinkin' Bastard

James Blood.. ...actually, I haven't listened to him for years and don't have a specific recommendation. Something in your style just jogged a memory of his stuff. I'll definitely check out Fat Possum records--thanks for the tip... Check out my latest song called The Fog

You get some really nice tone on that slide guitar---and it sounds like you are having a hell of a lot of fun playing it, too! There's a real nice "modern" (for lack of a better word) element to your stuff that really separates it from typical blues. Ever listen to James Blood Ulmer?
