A timeless piece of piano music... &mdash 02/10/07 - 03:19:28 AM
This piece struck me as being timeless in its appeal.

It was a pleasure to listen to it whilst having breakfast this cold, overcast Saturday morning in northern England.

Serenity, peace, calmness, things to come, the birth of the new, were all thoughts evoked whilst listening.

Take care.

Paul.

Thanks so much for your positive thoughts about this little number. It is likewise cold and rainy here in California today. Amazing, isn't it, that we can make a connection across so many miles in just an instant...and with music. It is indeed a grand world in so many ways!
Peace.

thank you, Steve. I try...and sometimes I succeed. (But you should see the stuff in my trash bin!) Glad you had a chance to listen to this new tune.
Peace.

It's been said, &mdash 02/10/07 - 09:04:12 AM
that to have a peaceful evening, one needs a warm fire, a glass of wine, and your loyal dog by your side. Add to that mix the music of Paul Page. :-)

What a wonderful sound.

God bless,

Rick

To my ears, Paul.... &mdash 02/10/07 - 10:49:52 AM
...THIS gets to something that any number piano solo pieces I've heard over the years don't attain, which is a sense of the human heart of the person composing and playing it... And beyond that, a sense of something universal in all human hearts that gets called into presence just hearing this...

The tempo and the feel are perfect... It feels like it's a meditation set to music...

Beautiful.

Ed,
Thank you for your beautiful comments about my little piece. Sometimes I think I am just a medium through which music flows and to hear your comment about the universal heart is really encouraging to me. We're all on the journey together and I only hope that the music reflects that unity. Your positive reaction really made my day.

You really shine best... &mdash 02/10/07 - 11:50:52 AM
...on your solo pieces. There's just something about your expression and touch on the keys, as well as cohesive melodic content and overall piano technique -- which is just EXCELLENT.

I think this recording would be totally "CD-ready" if you removed that ever-so-tiny little glitch towards the end. I hesitate to "pick nits" but this piece is so wonderful that I'd hate to see it marred in ANY form or fashion!

I am always amazed how great you make this Ivory plug-in sound. In the right "hands" (pun intended) it really does sound REAL.

From one of your biggest piano fans,
Cameron

Thanks, Cameron, for giving "Say Again" a listen. I will take a careful look at the "glitch" near the end. Don't know if I heard that or not, but maybe this will give me a chance to "fiddle" a bit in GB and see if I can nudge a little more respect out of those dots on the page. Thanks for the heads-up listening and your careful ears!

Another beautiful creation &mdash 02/12/07 - 11:11:17 AM
Another wonderful, beautiful, and beautifully-crafted piece. And lovingly played, as always. I'm not sure if the 'glitch' mentioned above is the E/F# that are played together in the left hand in the second last D arpeggio, but I liked that the E worked its way in there and thought it might be intentional. No matter, really; it's all lovely.

Thanks for listening, Clark. Your remarks are really welcoming and affirming. I gave the "glitch" a quick listen last night. At least I've identified the spot. Will get to that in time. I appreciate such careful listening.
