Description:
this is a sloppy off the floor version I recorded more for myself to listen to and critique than anything else, but there's something quaint and appealling about it.
I have a grand vision in my head for this song with electric guitars and drums and the whole shebang, but it's going to prove itself difficult, so i have no dillusions of haveing it finished anytime soon.

works well just on accoustic - thats a big sound from the ovation, quite grand in itself.Powerful voice, lyrics.Sometimes bands can overdo a song by playing all the way through it.This song strikes me as one that would kick heads in even further if the elctric stuff came in towards the end of the accoustic part for an instrumental and a reprisal or maybe just in the choruses. But - it rocks as it is.

bare bones &mdash 02/12/07 - 10:14:10 PM
cool to hear the bare bones. i can see where this could go on the bigger scale that you're thinking about. keep this vocal track if you can, it's great.

Great vocals and guitar... &mdash 02/13/07 - 12:22:26 AM
Diamond in the rough for sure.. quite a performance even in its simple form. The angst of your voice really comes through loud and clear..full of emotions. Love the energy you put in your guitar strumming, almost like the guitar itself is the other performer in this act. Would certainly love to hear this in full band arrangement, without losing the very essence that this raw piece contains.

I really like the vocals... &mdash 02/15/07 - 01:21:14 AM
You have a really interesting voice - and I love your tone. I agree with everyone, this is great like it is - but I'd love to hear a full band arrangement.... opening with the acoustic and then building.

actually, &mdash 02/15/07 - 10:10:24 AM
what i have in my head goes almost the opposite way, starting out with this instrumental crescendo, then you get dropped off into this song which has a totally different but complimentary vibe. that's what i hear anyway. gimme a day or so, we'll see what happens.

Man great vocal. I envy your range. You have a voice well suited for the genre your dabling in. Progressive rock, maybe? Glad I stumbled into your work, it's excellent. Regards

prog? &mdash 07/01/07 - 11:04:43 PM
I hate it when people ask me what kind of music I play or listen to. Man, I thoroughly enjoy frank zappa and patsy cline. the beatles and pantera. busta rhymes and beethoven. as long as it's a real song with intention and integrity; a song with passion and something that compels me.
that having been said, I never have even the slightest clue what catagory to post things under. I've written songs that were, say, 4/5 acoustic and then climax into a real dirty heavy thing. Are they heavy metal? maybe. acoustic? ya...
I'll use progressive cuz it makes me sound more talented than I actually am.
peace,
-rain
