Save Me

This Song Temporarily Offline
Description

This song is about finding your soulmate later in life. It's about having faith that the right person would come along and the joy in finding them and finding out that they've been looking for you too.

My wife thought it would be nice for me to write a song for her brother's wedding (next year) and this is it. Hope you like it.

Lyrics

"You're just who I've been searching for" you said.
I've spent my life convinced that everywhere I've been before,
would lead me closer to the key, and the door.

"I've never felt like this before" you said.

I won't pretend that it's not everything I've ever wished for.
I always knew that you would find me, and save me.

I want you to be there when I reach the other side
and carry me away...

Through the rain,
heading to a place where noone knows our name.
We can shelter in our cave until the sunrise.
Do you still feel the same way as you did the first time that you came?
It's there every time I look into your eyes.

"Take my hand in yours" you said.
It's only natural that you and I should be together.
I always knew that you would find me, and save me.

I want you to be there when I reach the other side
and carry me away...

You can look so hard you can't see what's right there.
You stop searching and you see her everywhere.

Through the rain,
heading to a place where noone knows our name.
We can shelter in our cave until the sunrise.
Do you still feel the same way as you did the first time that you came?
And I know you'll be there with me as we go...

Through the rain,
heading to a place where noone knows our name.
We can shelter in our cave until the sunrise.
Do you still feel the same way as you did the first time that you came?
I always knew that you would find me, and save me.

Save me...

Save me...

You saved me.

I like it!
nice melody! very heartful.
are you playing sax too?

I thought it would be better if I could hear
higher notes of guitar in the chorus. it will make it more
shiny!

Hi, Yes it is me playing the sax. Thanks a lot for your comments. Up to now
I've only ever played chords on the guitar, I've been doing scales recently (on
Ringo's recommendation) trying to imp[rove and this is the first song with
anything other than very basic rhythm work. I was concentrtating so hard on
not hitting the wrong notes that I probably restricted myself too much to the
notes I was playing, but hey! That's life!

Thanks

Excellent
This is one of your best. Really good. Excellent words,
great swaying feel, nice playing, great singing. Such a
perfect vocal sound you have achieved! Your vocals
sound so intimate, so honest, so warm yet crisp. The
stereo guitar are placed really well. There are several
times the precise rhythmic timing gets out of sync
(especially in the final ritard). The sax is a wonderful
addition (altho I wanted it mic'd a little closer and mixed a
hari louder, but nice sound and sweet notes). The first
note of the sax entrance is a bit off in my ears, maybe
from the trill bend you use (?). Maybe you should have
used a run of pick-up notes instead of a second trills that
clash. But this is a very minor note on a truly pretty song,
fine lyrics, and beautiful mood you have created.

Wifty, that sax solo is awesome. Lovely playing. It
sounded spot-on to me. Very emotive.

And I think the guitar solos are coming along nicely. Keep
it up.

I'm using GB with a Shure PG58 Mic and M-Audio Keystation 49-e plugged into a Behringer Eurorack UB502 (if anyone's interested!) and occassionally a Yamaha YAS-23 Alto sax. For my earlier stuff, I've got a Samick acoustic guitar plugged in using... [see more]
