Say, Rebsie &mdash 02/14/07 - 08:04:17 AM
Thank you, Rebsie.
I am struck by the coincidental contrast of this piece and the fabulous textures of Geordie, both approaching the topic of Loss.
The imploring melodies of voice, guitars and "fiddle" wovewn into the complex and layered voices of the Ballad are so different from the dark, echoing corners of a broad Blues gesture.
My, you Are a Brave One, venturing so far afield to this piece!
Very Best Regards,
Cooper --- "What you Don't use, You Lose." Get Rockin' [ Reply to This ]
the universal muse &mdash 02/14/07 - 01:44:26 PM
Ah, well this shade of Blues may be half a world away from the stuff I'm doing ... but a sincere heartfelt performance empowered by the forces of inspiration still stands out, whatever the genre.
Many thanks indeed for your kind words about Geordie ... I really appreciate the kind support you've been giving me. [ Reply to This ]

This is different.. &mdash 02/13/07 - 01:49:04 PM
..enough that I would put it under Blues (Contemporary) rather than traditional. I wish it was a bit longer--it's a nice jam that feels to me like it is just starting to get it's legs and starting to take off when it ends...
Nice, crackling tone you're getting out of the "beater" strat!

Point Taken &mdash 02/16/07 - 09:36:29 AM
The Lead is qua Elvin Bishop but the desolation minds me of Mississippi Fred McDowell.
Thank You for the Crit. I always note your depth and background in all matters of the Blues.

Thank You, Brother.
I just found "I Promise" and while it is Soul, these ears hear a lot of the Blues in that great mix of Vocal, Guitar, Harmonica, and Organ - did I mention the Lead Guitar.
Big One, Brother.

A Step Too Far &mdash 02/16/07 - 11:36:12 AM
Couldn't go another step, that day.
It is really just a Journal entry rather than a Song.
A Gesture with a Big Brush, responding to finding the Blues swirling around on a sun lit morning.
GB is great for getting a riff down before it goes.
Your Crit is very much appreciated.
With Best Regards,
Cooper

The way it starts out... &mdash 02/14/07 - 07:10:48 PM
pieces here and there and they gather together to offer an awesome groove. Kind of left me hanging at first but when it comes together it works well. Cool twist on the blues man... Where's the rest? I want more. [ Reply to This ]

Love the hard playing.
I keep thinking I wanna play some real hard stuff but don't go there. I miss the hard stuff and when it is played so soulfuly you gotta love it.
