Description:
This song was recorded about a year ago on my VF-80, and instantly became one of my favouite compositiions. Some of the best lyrics i've ever written (actually, the first time I let someone read them, thier only comment was "Dude, are you okay?").
I would love to tackle this song again on GarageBand, pick the tempo up a bit (it's almost painfully slow), employ a brighter guitar sound, as my new amp is vastly superior to the P.O.S. I was using at the time; just bring it to life a little more, but i've been putting it off because i'm a little intimidated by the thought of learning the second solo. Definately one of my shining moments as a guitar player.
Lyrics:
It's cold; you slide as I belong to old replies.
currents strong enough to tide me over.
I've cast aside when I was wrong, this contrived and nourished song. Trust in my only will and borrow the bones to make right the swollen, long and caustic knives thrust into dawn.
The sunrise brings us swiftly into mourning. It's cold. You slide and i belong to old replies and currents strong enough to tide me over.
Through retracing my steps, I can't recall the weakness i've spent on all the times stretching out behind me.
I can't tell exactly why i'm haunted by what's left or why i'd want this all to last until my dying breath.
I'm sitting on salvation's steps and clinging to our crimson death; lost in this relentless urge to never fall asleep.
By placing stones on your back step i've stretched this hole/myself around my head, and i've read to you a page from a peasant's travels.
And into sockets i have forced this wretched and cold discourse, made up of things i've crushed into gravel.(sorry the vox are mixed too loud here, i can't access the master anymore)
I'm staying as your neighbour's guest so i can watch you as you dress the wounds i struck while you were fast asleep.
I've had to weave the patterns inside my swollen mouth. I've had to leave the lanterns behind me as i melt.
i've lost my last and whispered breath as i cling to your tender breast. Caught off guard i finally fall asleep.

Wonderful. Great moments, powerful accumulative power. Haunts, embraces, swirls and stings. Really nice. [ Reply to This ]

Woo, this is like drifting off to a hazy dream place. The multi vocal tracks sound great together, and the guitar plays a perfect, moody accompaniment. [ Reply to This ]

cool guitar work &mdash 03/03/07 - 05:27:40 PM
There's a darker vibe as well lending itself to the vocals. Very ambient, reminds me of early floyd. [ Reply to This ]
