Another remix track..this is one of my pre-Day For Night collabs with the wonderful Mystified. This rounds off the current crop of Foghorn remixes (although I am tempted to post Disengage up too hehe)

I think this is one of your best combinations of vocal performance (on your part) with mix and production... the mix is silky... The Mysti bits are really nice counterpoint... the reverb or delay or whatever you're using on your own voice is really well suited... Even the drums, simple as they are, suit the vibe of the track...
Love the ending bits of lead guitar... And the chiming rhythm or fingerpicked electric bits...
This just sounds more polished and focused, more complete than some of your notebook-ish productions or sketches, and it's really nice to hear one taken to this level... Really, really like it...

One of the reasons I have been doing these remixes is to try out the new ozone 3 mastering plug in, I am finding that it does make a real difference in getting a more polished sound.
It also helps having the great vocal performances from Mysti...I am lucky to have such a fab collaborator. We have more Day For Night projects in the pipeline I am pleased to say!

I love the vibe you have with this song. It's mysterious. I really like the guitar bits you play and how they're arranged. It's like the notes are floating arpund in a room. Fantastic! Mysti adds a nice texture to it. Production is top notch. Downloaded and going to my car! [ Reply to This ]

Lovely sounds Steve! The guitar parts sound really interesting, and unlike anyone else I can think of. Mysti's and your vocals work very well together. Ozone 3 is obviously worth a look.

I really like this one - Excellent palying (as ever), great vocals from both of you - these work really well together (in the kind of way Leonard Cohen always has wonderful female vocalists - not suggesting that you're flat like Leonard)! I like the way this drifts along... Peter [ Reply to This ]

Thanks for listening Peter...yes one of the nice things about sites like MJ is that you can get to work with a wide range of different musicians. Its been really rewarding to get to work with Mysti.. we seem to have a good creative connection. If you get a spare minute do check out our band here on MJ called Day For Night...we have had a lot of fun doing that!

Lovely stuff Steve - the two vocals work really well on this, and the track has a wonderful late night feel. The production sounds great - I'm tempted by Ozone! I really adult piece of work (not a porno way, but, you know what i mean).
