Sounds Like a Love Song

Description
Absolute tongue-in-cheek, fingers-down-throat boy-band ballad. There's no excuse for it, just sometimes your brain won't let go until you've let the ghosts out;-)
Listen to it with the sense of irony in which it was intended - especially wait for the TWO keychanges at the end;-)

Lyrics
I said I never write love songs
All that cr*p about who's missing who
Find a rhyme for your name
Depends on Cupid's aim
It's like drowning in lyrical goo

So why inflict this sop in the world
Do we need another boy-band?
Such heart-rending voices
And fashionable choices
Of gestures to go with the words

But I can feel the rising tension
Like my world's gonna blow
I'm losing sight of the second dimension
Oh no, oh no, here we go, baby

Ch...
It took a long time to find you
I can't imagine life without you
Why would I want a minute more?
So baby won't you please believe me
And promise that you'll never leave me
It's what my life was waiting for...
Sounds like a love song to me

No matter what I feel inside
Does the world need another love song?
Wear my heart on my sleeve
All those sweet harmonies
What the hell did I ever do wrong?

But I can feel the tension rising
Like the taste-meter's going to blow
So where's it going? No, it's not surprising
Oh no, oh no, here we go again baby

Ch

It's unavoidable, maybe
To pour out these feelings, to share
Or to rhyme moon & June
Croon a tune, use a spoon
Or to show you that sometimes I care

But the tension is worse by the minute
'Cos one key's not enough, don'tcha know
And once that you find yourself in it
There's nowhere else for it to go, baby

Ch x 2

Thank you, domo arigato...

This was my Japanese nickname from 15 years ago when I first visited Japan. (I'm actually English & can only speak very few phrases in Japanese.)

I'm glad you liked the song. I hope it amused you.

Instant classic
So many nice details. Full of smiles and admiration. Strong writing, very nice self-deprecating description. No reason for excuses, it is not easy to write such a solid mainstream hit, even if you think it is a clone of a clone. UNlike most, this also has a sense of humor. Welcome to MJ. Where is Lou Pearlman when you need him?

i'm in love.
Man, I gotta go change my pants......

The production was great. Actually it's better than great. It's almost perfect. You have a great voice. And yes I agree the demons must be released, or we can't move on sometimes, and it is time... that is...to move on...The first chorus's are inspired. The only song I have heard that goes higher is "Penny's From Heaven:" recorded by the Osmond Brothers and The Williams (Andy) Brothers TOGETHER. Very rare, but worth finding.

This one's all me ;-)

All the other tracks on here are the band, but this was just a bit of self-indulgence on my part

hoot hoot
I had great laughs all through... I will say that, if you wanted to, (and i don't think you do) you could produce the real think, you are just that good at the production end... but I'll stick with the parody... great stuff

Ha ha!
Very cute. Syas alot about the state of the music industry in general if a parody song is actually much more enjoyable than most of the stuff that comes out commercially. Good Work!
