Description:
I wrote this Feb 13th and 14th, 1979 and performed it live the evening of Feb. 14th. This recording is from a tape of that performance in the dorms at UCSB. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the flutist. I'm playing on my Alvarez classical guitar. Photo is the outflow of Mirror Lake on Tanaya Creek in Yosemite Valley.

That was Beautiful!!
The flute and your guitar are blended so smooth. You also picked a perfect picture to go with it, nice.

Very sparkly earthy composition, really well-performed... loved it Graham! Thanks for leaving the applause on the end, you deserve it. Too bad the flute player is lost in analog obscurity, he/she did wonderfully too.

I do feel guilty that I can't remember her name... I notated the piece late at night and only asked her that morning to play the piece. We really only practiced it together for maybe an hour.

Thanks for digging this one up. Its a really wonderful recording. I think we should hound you to the ends of the earth for the name of the wonderful flutist though, she did all the hard work ;)

This is testament tdo the fact that you have had your skill for a long time. I'm sure this song was very well-received by your friends. Sure does take me back to the college days... The complete lack of tension, of deep concerns; the innocence... Great days.
The two of you did a wonderful job on this sweet composition.

Funny, I can hear the "1979" in this composition, and yet if you hadn't mentioned it, it could be a timeless beauty conceived today.
really lovely. I agree with Patrick... this really feels relaxed and carefree. You're a man of many talents.

I know I'm pulling stuff up from the past, but I'm glad you all enjoyed it. I've always liked this little piece myself. :)

The guitar is excellent. That flute is a very fine companion.
...like Supper's Ready... very beautiful!

You've done a way better job than I ever have using SoundSoap here.... This is pristine, with a nice sense of depth and space...
The piece itself is sweet and pure... Captures an innocent time... It just feels nice...

Thank you Graham! It's okay to present works from the past, and this was wonderful. Thanks for sharing it.
God bless,

Very beautiful. Beautifully played by both of you. I drifted off into dreamland while it was playing... Very soothing.
Were you a classical guitar student in university?
Bubowski
No we didn't officially have a major in guitar. I taught myself in senior year in high school. We did eventually get a guitar teacher in, when I was a junior in college...then I had to unlearn a bunch of bad habits! :-P. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

go dig some more into the bubowski archives. You fellow dorm mates must have been awestruck. I can feel the good vibes radiating off this.

The first playful part has great interaction between you and the flautist, really cool to hear. The second, minor part is much less emotive and more about the music. The return blends those two feelings really well.
If I were music critic to the world, that's what I'd say.
Thanks for posting all of your "old stuff". I've been enjoying it.

Gorgeous visions arise from hearing these notes. I like the way you've broken the piece into segments with different tempos, each one with its own feeling and movement.
Bravo!

Thanks for you nice comments. And yes, the photo is of the Merced River in Yosemite Valley. We go there every year...it's about a 4 hour drive from our house. California is BIG and has lot's of different ecosystems.

genuinely lovely. There are ways to track your flautist down. It is nice that were able to save the recording. Thanks.
