Description
This is a tribute song to the late great "Dimebag" Darrell of the thrash metal band, Pantera. This song was sort of modeled after David Allan Coe's "The Ride", where he meets the ghost of Hank Jr. along the side of a dark highway.

Lyrics
I was drivin' to New Orleans
When I Rode just south of Abilene
I pulled up beside a man with a red goatee.
His eyes were wild
His guitar, black
He had a broke down old school cadillac
And said, "Take me 'bout as far as you can see"
Well we hit the road for San Antone
And shared a song as the thunder rolled
And we laughed when the rain leaked in
From that southern Sky
I rolled a smoke and he did too
And soon we were laughin at the Texas moon
He said " I got a gig to make, son. We better fly"
And he said
Ride On, Ride On
I am the spirit of the Wind and in your bones
Those days aint gone
If you can feel it in your soul
Say "Hell Yeah! Watch it Go"
Well we made the show just in time
The crowd did roar as the band headlined
Then he handed me his guitar
Right from the stage
And as I left that night, I said
"Mister, much oblidged"
He said" You don't have to call me 'Mr', mister - The whole world calls me Dime"
Ride On. Ride On.
I am the Spirit of the Wind and in yer bones
Those days ain't gone
If you can feel it in yer blood
Well Then you know
So when when you look into my eyes
You better live before you die
I'll see you on the road
So watch it go.

Sweet engineering, slick guitar work, very competent musicianship, good voice, focused poetry..pretty close to being a hit. A fine example of the craft. Just a little bit more of the 'magic' and we might be seeing you on the MTV music awards. Nice job!
