Description
The mix is a cross between Ambient and Industrial, the latter because of the way I've applied 'verb. I found that if I tweaked the verb in certain ways, the treble came through and I liked what I heard and so the piece came out in the way you now hear it. The verb gave my mix that 'metallic' edge.

It's experimental, with the emphasis on mental.

Mind how you go...

Deep
indeed - quite a contrast to some of your other songs.Definately paints images of sunken ships, rusting metal, blurry landscapes.Colourful - would go well with an art installation at a gallery perhaps.Nit pickin - would have put an even bigger verb on the keyboard with longer delay

Good suggestion Richard...
Thanks for leaving some words for me.

I will try more verb on this, probably today, and see what comes of it.

I did play with all sorts of effects but most turned the mix into mush.

Paul.

hi reinholt
Thought i would check this out, and what a cool surprise...this is awesome music. I love well made ambient music and this is some fine stuff...a lot of thought and work and the peice works for me!

one of the first cds i ever bought when cds were released was by Gavin Byers and it was ambient music called the "sinking of the titanic..." I bet you would be surprised at some of the similarities...the aquatic feel. Really great stuff, my friend!

Thanks for stopping by Ziti...
I enjoyed producing this mix and the verb gave the piece this 'depth' so Mariana Trench came up, Jules Vern, etc.. so I came up with the title it has through wandering/wondering thought processes.

I am glad you enjoyed the piece and I will certainly check out Gavin Byers' music.

Paul.

This does sound
so deep down under... the drumbeats and the swirling pull me down into it, very well done.

Thanks for taking a dip.....
I'm happy that you enjoyed your deep-sea experience and that the drums were OK.

I enjoy creating music using computers and 'synthesized' as opposed to 'real' instruments. I have no problem using samples/loops in my music. Everyone does this every time they work with a track. I don't fit in any box and thoroughly enjoy working ou... [see more]

Genre Info
Experimental music is any music that challenges the commonly accepted notions of what music is. There is an overlap with avant-garde music. John Cage was a pioneer in experimental music and defined and gave credibility to the form. As with other edge
