Description:
Woke up hearin "What's Goin On" and then the day happened, and then this happened. Another Saturday afternoon special - time is tight. Hope you can dig it. LATER THAT SAME DAY: I think I may have rushed this out and it will go back to the shop for repairs - maybe vocals - who knows. But I'm gonna leave this up and would appreciate suggestions and comments. Thanks.

Brother, Good groove to help me sort out my trip on this early Sunday morning. Listened to Marvin on the way to Agra and the Taj. Interesting combo of sounds and sights along the India highway. Remember Big Thunder Mountain in '80? "Nothing's the same," you said. The same applies to my India visit. Big soul shaker!
bud
glad I could ease your reentry. Lookin forward to an "India Trip" collab down the line.
strong bass line here. Makes for a happinin sunday afternoon. The superfly side of Bud. Were ya thinking about lyrics to this I think It would be nice to throw some symbolic words ontop of this rythm. Just a thought.

I just updated the description cause I was thinkin the same thing about vocals. I'm short on time these days - and as a result stuff goes out before I have time to sleep on it. I appreciate the bass comp from the bottom king.

as soon as swanky bass crawls in.. rhythmical beat kicks in then there's this chilled out guitar riff accompanied by drowsily pain-numbing saxo... and flutes/recodery sound so sensual and somewhat ethnic... groovy!!!
bud
greatly appreciated.

funky threads thoughout. seeing you were on limited time to create, did you wing this or did you have it in mind? comes across pretty well planned out. i think bringing in some soulful singing can work very well. espicially with a call and response section with the back up singing budettes. maybe your brother is up for thr challenge on this. great bass, appropriate, and really nice keyboard work.

Nothng was planned - I just started at 90BPM with Marvin in mind and then my limited skills took over. First drums, then bass, then keyboard guitar lead line, etc. etc. Once the groove was down I built in the break - and posted. No time for thinkin or reflecting. So thanks for your comments - and see "Can't Shake It".

I just woke up.

...form a band and compete with Matthew Sweet and Aimee Mann and Michael Penn and Susanna Hoffs in the retro-power-pop sweepstakes, I would like to respectfully request that you invite me to play tambourine...
I love this. Great groove.

Love the drums/bass/synth/flute/percs/the bass, some more and the space...
Nice production, too!
One of the most tightly groovn' tunes that I've heard in a long time!
Thanks bud!

You put this in the Other genre. Sounds suspiciously like jazz to me. Beautiful tune and I really like the texture of the orchestration. Sounds pretty finished to me. Can't wait to see where it goes from here. Downloaded and headed from my iPod. Thanks, Bud.
bud
I guess it sounds jazzy - but I have too much respect for the form to call anything I do here Jazz. Just me. Where it went is to "It Can't Shake" (within 24 hours actually)

Whenever I hear a flute solo on a groovy tune, I either think 60's coffee house poem, or porn soundtrack. Thankfully. I am thinkin' the later. Nice bottom...errr bass I mean....nice track. I like it as an instrumental actually.
bud
I wasn't going for porn - but I'll take it. I agree with you about the instrumental - sometimes enough is enough.
