Lyrics:
Maybe I blame you, for my insecurities
Maybe I don't wanna be your, emotional stability

You want me to change the things I do
Is this change for me, or really more for you

I don't wanna be your
Your knight in
In shining anything
I don't wanna be your
Your knight in
In shining anything

I won't feel guilty, for things out of my control
I won't play this game, it's overtime I'll hit the road

I want you to change the things you do
Not change for me, it's really more for you

I don't wanna be your
Your knight in
In shining anything
I don't wanna be your
Your knight in
In shining anything

You let me down
Cause I put my life on hold
You said you'd leave
But you're still there
And I'm out in the cold, cold, cold

I don't wanna be your
Your knight in
In shining anything
I don't wanna be your
Your knight in
In shining anything

I don't wanna be your
Your knight in
In shining anything
I don't wanna be your
Your knight in
In shining anything

hook &mdash 02/18/07 - 03:09:15 PM
excellent hook at the chorus - it's a straightforward informational statement, drawing the line, no apology - and the vocal supports that with a "here you go, take it or leave it" attitude. i LIKE the way you write & sing, e46. i'd like to hear a remix with less equaling more. for this ear, the music could easily lose a track - too much going on competes with the mood of the vocal - i'd like to hear each instrument's voice more clearly, as well. strong song - i was singing my back up girl butt off to it. Good Job! - anne

a great blend &mdash 02/18/07 - 03:48:59 PM
Way to go, you two. A very good pairing -- you complement each other. Reminds me a bit of Catie Curtis.

I agree with Anne .... &mdash 02/18/07 - 05:26:28 PM
... that the instrumentation got a little crowded in spots (or perhaps there was just a little volume lowering needed on some of them) ... which wasn't necessary for the genre and sound of this tune ... but I still enjoyed it greately ... e46's vocal style has that easy relaxed feel to it ... I think all of these collabs have come out so darned good ! And in such a short amount of time too! We should all be proud.

Love the song writing &mdash 02/18/07 - 07:47:41 PM
Great job here. Song writing is first class. E-Guitar leads match well, making this a completely enjoyable listen. Thanks for putting this together.

I hear a bit of Sinead O'Conner in your voice.... nice...
Tasty folk feel to this. I like the chord progression.
Good work you two!

This is a terrific song and I really hope you guys will keep working this, things like the drums, that you mentioned, being tightened could bring this into the realm of super-fantastico (highly technical musical term). Fabulous voice (what I would give to have your voice!!!) great lyrics, excellent execution on the instruments. Great bass line, Joe.

You guys are a good team and your styles really are an excellent complement to each other. It's so funny to me that the electric guitar solo really sounds like Joe, even though it's probably your chord progression, Jen.

I agree with what has been said about cutting some of the instrument tracks. Joe's going to kill me, but it's the electric guitar that I'd recommend scaling back. This may also be very weird, but I think a trumpet might be an interesting substitution/addition.

I really hope you guys make some more music. This is an MJ fave for me.

lots of great stuff here: cool lyrics, nice vocals, smooth guitar. Keep working this and tighten it up and repost. Please! This is so close to being a terrific song.

Nice work you guys. I like the lyrics, and I especially like the way the acoustic guitar and bass sound.

Like this tune alot. A little thick with the mix, but nothing can hide that recognizable voice, one that has a gutsy, heartful character.
