The picture is Jenny Lou Carson - I mean to find out more about her.

Lyrics:
Jenny Is The Sunshine Girl - RG Paddler

I have lived and I have loved and you were by my side
I have lied and you have cried and many dreams have died
But whenever theres a way you can see me through
And whenever theres a road you can
take me to..
I'll be down and out in a go-go bar
You never thought I'd go that far
Goes to show I just dont know where I really belong
After all the crowds have gone seems like you're the only one
Who cuts me like a razor

Jenny is my sunshine girl
Yeah Jenny you can rule my world
Jenny is the good-time girl
Yeah Jenny she lights up my world

I been rich and I been poor and I been plain old broke
You been dancin I was chancin then one day I awoke
She got in through the back and she grabbed my gun
And she told me right there I was a drunkards son
I was born to run and born to die
You came along and blew the sky
You never know - what goes around can make a man blind
But after all the fears subside you open up my eyes so wide
And shoot me like a wild boar

(chorus)

Jenny thinks like,Jenny moves like -
A Diamond-Back beneath the stars
Winnin races throwin down aces
Wheelin and dealin in bars
And the wench is wild and the ranch is wide
And her hair is long and her hands are tied
Way beyond the deserts line we'll be rollin feelin fine
Takes a war to raise the peace and thats all we know
But when she calls and when she sings
I'm crashing in the water

(chorus)

This reminds me of a track of M Ward's last album...I like the sound you have on this one. Nice!

though I dont know who M Ward is - I shall go and find out.Soloing I have to admit is a favourite indulgence,I like it even better when its live and you've got a guitarist to bounce off (musically speaking) though I have yet to meet anyone who can bounce what I'm doing back - I usually steal what they just played and do a variation on it.Its the best live musical challenge in my opinion

Quality stuff.... &mdash 02/22/07 - 02:08:23 PM
My friend, you compose some very fine songs. You also perform and produce them with the same panache.

It's getting to be an automatic 'Favourite' button when I listen to your compositions. Excellent work.

You write and perform a very enjoyable fine and well mixed genre of music.

Paul.

Such a great combination of writing, production, and performance. The words just roll and flow at a wonderful rhythm. Great piano sound as well. Very well done!

Very cool song! I haven't listened to any of your posts yet (see the "I CAN'T KEEP UP!" forum thread), but you obviously know how to throw a few notes together ;) Your playing and zox zre also rather impressive.
Not sure about your genre selection (although that's what attracted me) - but not sure where it fits. Maybe the "Good Music" genre :)
Like this a lot,
Neil

I dont know about the genre - I first posted in on Download.com under contemporary country but then someone said it sounded more like pick-up truck music!

Wow! &mdash 02/23/07 - 09:52:22 PM
Cool! This starts out reminding me of John Hartford or maybe even Bobby Goldsboro, it got such a classic melodic sense, and then there's the tack piano fills, and a sort of slapback reverb on the vocal that sets it in that period for me. A trippy combination of elements that is really appealing. This definitely doesn't fit into a Bluegrass slot, in the end, way too many chords for that, but that would only bother sticklers, and with slightly different instrumentation and production I could imagine Nickel Creek doing this song. Interesting composition, very unique!

Right! &mdash 02/23/07 - 10:33:33 PM
Could you imagine Chris Thile doing that piano solo on the mandolin? I can. But that piano was so hot, I'm not sure I'd want to trade it for the mandolin. Really great chops on that solo, like some kind of weird cross between Lou Reed and ragtime. Really enjoyed it.

I'm afraid I have never heard of John Hartford,Bobby Goldsboro,Nickel Creek,or Chris Thile, which is good because I can go and explore their music.I love the sound of the mandolin and I reckon that would fit very well infact on a lot of songs hmmm I'm inspired to go and buy one! Thanks!
