Welcome to loop-land
I C U R A Dragon 2? Welcome to Macjams, and Garageband's instant-gratification land of loops. As you'll quickly find, you gravitated toward the same loops many of us loved to use early on. In fact, you may want to listen to some of those loops set in a VERY FUNNY context in this guy's piece (http://www.macjams.com/song/5105). When I heard these loops in your piece, I started giggling, remembering what "Pooey" did with them. Anyway, pretty good job of choosing loops that fit together... the constant banging on the triangle in the beginning was a little repetitive, but you moved on to other percussion later. There is so much you will find you can do to tailor those loops into real original songs too, by choosing different instruments for them, panning them/fading them, editing individual notes after you place them, etc. And then, when you choose some audio-in equipment for recording your own stuff, whole new worlds open up. And then, you start collaborating with other people on here, and even MORE worlds open up, and ... well, you get the idea... you'll be addicted in no time. (smirk)

Thank you
I checked out the song you recomended, my song does sound like a little bit like the candy song, I guess it can't be helped when most people start with the basic loops. My mix did not come out here they way I wanted. I guess that is part of the learning curve. But I thank you for your advice, I will get the hang of it one day and have the GB addiction of music perfection like everyone else.

Welcome
Using loops is a lot of fun and is the primary way I create all my "songs" since I have no ability to play any instrument except for the Kazoo. Here are some things that I have found that can make my pieces more interesting and these tips might help you too.
It is easy to change software instruments to make them do what you want them to do. Edit the melody, change the instrument that it was originally written in, change the note velocity, strip off some of the chords of the keyboard loops and just keep the melody etc.
"Real instrument" loops are harder to modify but you can still cut and paste the origial loop and rebuild it into a new part.
When I work with loops I treat them like gold. Too many of them in a single piece begins to resemble the gold chains that Mr. T used to wear. Overkill that destroys the beauty of each piece. How much greater does a simple gold chain on a beautiful womam's neck look than the Mr T. approach? Hope you enjoy your work with GB and have fun "making music"

Thanks for tips
Thats what I fiqured when I started messing with loops, I found out you can get very detailed with the software side.
I play with live instruments and GB should help me put everything together the way I want it with more practice of course. I have not been called a anal analyst for nothing. I will fiqure it out, it does help greatly though that there are alot of great people here to pass on their knowledge. I am never one to not ask a question or turn down friendly advice. Thanks again.
