Description:
Sometimes you know someone that knows you so well it's more than Trust, it's Faith in them.
It's been seven years since my boyhood friend unexpectedly died a half world away. There are many days still I wish that we could talk things through.
Cooper
Lyrics:
Glass got no water
Lock got no key
Morning's got no sun
That I can see
Don't know what it is come over me
Wish I could talk with You.
The lark calls cross the meadow
Unseen but True
I'll let my heart speak
The words won't do
Wish I could walk
One more time with you
Yeah with You
Matchbooks empty
There ain't no Fire
Cold in the Wind
And it's full of Desire
And I'm wondering
What could be True
Wish I could talk with You
Yeah the lark calls cross the meadow
Unseen but True
I'll let my Heart speak
The Words won't do
Wish I could walk with
One more time
Walk with You
Yeah, Talk with You

For You, My Brother &mdash 02/24/07 - 09:28:41 AM
Thank You, Kenta. I regret your loss, as well.
Accepting the fact is easier than the longings that remain unanswered.

Zimmerman &mdash 02/24/07 - 07:30:03 AM
This reminds me very much of Bob Dylan. The composition, the phrasing, the lyrics...
And it sounds like the rolling stones is playing it here:)
This being said.. you've made a h... of a good tune! [ Reply to This ]
Zimmerman Unconscious &mdash 02/24/07 - 09:51:49 AM
Hello, my Friend.
As you can tell, this is a sketch, a pass at trying to get a thought down quickly.
Major influences unconsciously color the style of my songs that are a stream, more than the pieces worked on for a longer time. Though, admitedly, Brian Jones really showed me how a guitar could be played! He was the first one to Jump Out for me.
Very Best Regards to You,
Cooper --- "What you Don't use, You Lose." Get Rockin' [ Reply to This ]
beautiful sentiment &mdash 02/24/07 - 10:14:04 AM
and not too shabby on the production either!
as some piece of antiquity says: death is for the living.
sorry for your loss coop....but in this case it is our gain.

Sounds like it feels &mdash 02/24/07 - 03:01:04 PM
I can relate to your song, as my childhood best friend took his own life at the bottom of a long spiral. Instead of drifting apart, what if I could have helped him?
Nice work, Coop! [ Reply to This ]
Enough Is The End &mdash 02/25/07 - 02:46:14 PM
You probably did all he'd let you do.
When's when is the problem.

I appreciate &mdash 02/25/07 - 11:39:43 PM
Both of the above comments; seems they apply to me too; Coop you are a healer. The song is great; I started harmonizing ala Rolling Stonesish. But mostly felt the pain and the sentiment; kept me fixed reading the lyrics. Nicely done. [ Reply to This ]
Memorial &mdash 02/24/07 - 07:34:58 PM
This song bridges the gap between friends lost and those who remain. A fitting memorial for your friend.
Great sentiment and feel to the playing, lyrics and melody.
Good job. [ Reply to This ]

It's a Big Gap when it comes around.
Such Desire in the face of Accepted Fact is confounding.
I Appreciate You Comments, greatly.

BRIEF APPARITIONS &mdash 02/25/07 - 06:14:44 PM
Production gets sacrificed to whichever gods let you in to the space of the recognized yearning. But, perfection was not a consideration.
Thank You for your thoughtful and generous Comments.

Sleazy blues &mdash 02/25/07 - 01:43:12 PM
Hey RC... this has a Dylanish feel, as has been said, but it also kinda reminds me of the Velvets/Jesus and Mary Chain musically. Really great sleazy feel to this ... though it ends kinda suddenly.
A rock n roll tribute.

SAY, MAN, &mdash 02/25/07 - 06:38:58 PM
ETIENE,
I may be cursed with that Dylan iambic and this was straight instinct of the moment. It's true that the Underground hit me big at that early age and has never left, though most can't identify it.
I hope it held together for you; the end is a mid-sentence break and probably not fair to a listener.
Heard a Rocker from you today with a Total Walk Away Vocal. Been some week around here.
Very Best,
Coop

you are developing a really recognizable sound, and it's a real voice...steeped in rocknroll tradition.
the guitar sounds you are getting are so far advanced from when you started....very nice indeed!
deep bow to you coop!

...always deliver my friend. We have most if not all of us lost someone close and trusted. You convey well the sense of loss...
Musically this piece is superb. Dylanesque yes, but solid Coop nonetheless. Bravo!
Be well!
