Description:
the slow, numb, snowy number from gnostic disco.

Lyrics:
She was all dressed up with candles
And garlands
And presents in her eyes
Falling from christmas skies
"Have you ever held angels
In your hands
Have you ever been blessed?"
She said and then undressed

But her kiss was colder
Than if i'd been alone
The girl below zero
Has covered me with snow
And all soon grew darker
Than if she had been gone
Oh she can caress you
Till you’re frozen and blue

... a great title, CJ, which advertises a great little track. Really nice mix here - the bass is nice and upfront, and the drumming is nice and crisp - gives a really good backing to the phased guitar.

The vocals are swamped though ... certainly a bit too quiet, although I don't think the effect on them helps. Also, i'd love this to be longer, it's over way too soon.

Sounds like a Bob Smith lost classic.

the vocals... I supposed the idea was to make it sound "cold", or something. This, or I don't like my voice and usually tend to bury it under the effects.

Hey CJ,

Since I happen to be a proud owner of the first edition of Gnostic Disco, I can critically compare this version to the original mix. The intro comes in louder and stroger and I feel it is a definite improvement. Overall, all the levels seemed brighter and louder than the original mix. In the context of the entire Gnostic Disco cd, it's length makes perfect sense. It comes straight out of Sunshine Addiction (almost seemlessly) and into Girl Below Zero (makes sense in many ways) and blasts into Starmap Tattoo. The three songs in any other order wouldn't work as well.

Your vocals? What more can I say about your vocals that I haven't already said on a dozen other postings?

I agree with echoroom that this particular tune could very easily come fron the "Bobby Smith" lost classics tomb.

Good job reworking this. I think it's a vast improvement.

someone offered me GB3, hence the improvement. Thank HIM for this.

Nice Clash feel &mdash 02/26/07 - 06:21:27 PM
Reminds me of ambitious punk stuff like the Clash. Nice bass tone.
