Description:
This was my first attempt to write an R&B song, but ended up sounding like this...... but I kind of liked it, because it's a really new sound for me.

*I seemed to have uploaded the wrong file by mistake... PeacePiano and mudmen, sorry for removing your comments! I had to upload the proper file again......

Lyrics:
Saturday morning
Haven't slept all night
The sun beams in
through the curtains

Innocent morning
Clear air
You took the blanket
all for yourself

Guess you wanna stay in your dream
until I make you a tea

I get out of bed quietly
put on the slippers
turn on the TV
and brush my teeth

While boiling the water
I am just sitting here
enjoying a moment of peace alone

Though you are beside me
I can't feel you
End is near
Is it me or you who's walking out the door
Please say no more

Weekends have passed
with no particular events
Our conversation has run dry

You say good morning
but I hear good bye
Early morning light wraps us up gently

We both know can't go on
We don't know when to move on

Though you are beside me
I can't feel you
End is near
Is it me or you who's walking out the door
Please say no more

Great mood &mdash 02/26/07 - 09:55:05 AM
Really fresh sound. Jesushairdosan. The vocal progression is confident. I hear a Steely Dan sophistication, Keyboards sound great!

really great! &mdash 02/26/07 - 10:08:09 AM
I think for your first attempt at an R&B song, you are very close in some respects, and the resulting song is excellent! It's got a lot more going on in it than a lot of R&B songs, and it's sort of undefinable. Really nice composition and then the part just before the piano solo is really nice. I like how it slips in between Japanese and English...very cool!

Progressions &mdash 02/26/07 - 10:40:47 AM
Love the chord progressions, the pop jazz feel, the free movement, like a Legend or Connick cross-over pop song, which is really refreshing. The bass line is relatively high in several places, giving the track a lack of a real bottom and making it kind of thin in my ears, a demo sensibility; I thought it could have benefited from an additional instrument, like a rhythm guitar or even, on occasion, a lead guitar. The pizzicato phrases are a nice touch. Wonderful writing.

Very smooth &mdash 02/28/07 - 11:47:19 PM
Always enjoy your songs JH. Very smooth, great playing and vocals. One of the best pop performers on MJ for my money! I hear Steely Dan often in your songs - jazz/rock/pop sensibilities and chops to match.
Very professional, very confident - I hope you sell in Japan.
Cheers,
Neil

steely dan &mdash 03/01/07 - 10:29:15 PM
hey Neil. thank you very much for your comment! to be honest, i dont know Steely Dan very well, but i am guessing that he is one of those Adult Oriented Soft Rock artists? will check him out then.

Steely Dan ...... &mdash 03/01/07 - 11:07:16 PM
........ is a band - or rather a duo with rotating session musicians these days. You could do worse than listen to "Two Against Nature", their latest album. Jazz oriented rock/pop/blues - one of the best bands around.

You never... &mdash 03/12/07 - 04:52:33 PM
...disappoint me.
Judging from your previous uploads I have come to expect a certain level of quality of your songs and I'm thrilled to admit that you've lived up to those expectations every single time.

I love the piano part in this and the chord progression is really nice. I also agree with Tobin about the bass.

To no surprise, this is another download :)
