Description:
This jazzy tune reveals what happens when you speed up the BPM, lay down a slow bass line, and dice up the loops into small bits. The bass and flute were put in via mouse-over keyboard.
This is the third piece of music I created in GarageBand.

My robot is dying &mdash 12/02/04 - 10:11:34 AM
Halting pips. peeps and booms make this a very
interesting piece. Sounds as if an old mainframe computer
is coming apart at the seams due to competition from a
G5 PowerBook. I like this, even as brief as it is. It's a full,
rich sound. Those wandering. clueless saxophone notes
remind me of my old fan-powered toy organ (which I
threw away years ago). [ Reply to This ]

I'm not sure how to rate it so I won't. The tune has an
interesting cohesiveness that's more than the bass. The
ending was odd as it felt like it pretty much just stopped.
All in all, I thought it was pretty cool but generally too hip
for my 60s-ravaged brain to comprehend. [ Reply to This ]

Yeah... desolate night scene... anticipation of what the
darkness will bring. I wanted it to be longer, and more
revealing. Evocative to say the least. [ Reply to This ]

Chopped up creature dancing to music in his head. But
he's happy, I can tell by the smile on his multi-face. Very
cool mind experiment. A highlight! I really like that it, to
me, never gets disjoint or homely, but creates a hopping
beauty in a unique and fascinating way [ Reply to This ]

Thanks for the imaginative comments you have been giving me on my
tunes (this one and "yellow river slam"). You have a way of describing
exactly what I had hoped the music would convey...while making me
look at the piece I had created in a new light. [ Reply to This ]

I'm thinking you should have posted this under "Jazz" - would have gotten
more notice maybe?
I like your work here. [ Reply to This ]

This is extremely cool! It reminds me of my latest%u2026 but you know that already (since you were the one who heard the similarities first!).
To me this is very much 'jazz', as opposed to 'experimental', but maybe it's both%u2026 no matter, it sounds great either way. I would LOVE to hear you develop this into a longer piece%u2026 it's got tremendous potential.
I'm using the current MacJams marking system and giving this straight tens. :-) [ Reply to This ]
